Welcome to a practice that helps you cultivate a feeling sense,
Noticing the subtle rhythms in the cranium,
Cultivating a sense of internal understanding of the subtle shifts within the bone,
The connective tissues and the fluids within the skull and within the brain.
Please just begin with finding a comfortable seated position with your pelvis relaxed and supported into the ground underneath you,
Settling the bony weight of your sitting bones,
Softening your hands and placing your head right above the spine,
Gently pushing the crown of your head towards the ceiling,
Elongating your neck,
Then empty your jaw and allow the skin covering your face and your cheekbones to soften,
Further letting go of any tension in your neck,
Your temples,
Releasing the skin on the sides of your skull,
Just softening your entire cranium,
The entire skull,
Allowing your thoughts to come to rest,
Allowing your awareness to draw inwards,
Let it draw inwards into a space deep down inside your skull and see if you can notice the ebb and flow of your breath,
Gently touching the sphere of your skull,
Noticing any pulses or tingles,
Tremors or pressures in and around your skull.
You can sense and imagine the skull gently widening as you breathe in and leaving it with a feeling of spaciousness and calm as you breathe out and then continue to sense this slight expansion and contraction of your cranial bones and membranes as you breathe.
Do you perhaps notice a greater sensation,
More of a pulsation on the right or left side of your skull,
Within the left or right side of your brain?
Notice the tides or fluctuations,
Vibrations of the fluids in your brain and notice how they move ever so slightly,
Bobbing like seaweed in the waves,
Perhaps noticing how your thoughts create waves or sensation in the brain and really just creating this super fine-tuned awareness to the subtle rhythms occurring inside the space of your skull,
Inside the space of your brain,
Noticing subtle shifts in your energy and the way you perceive yourself and the way you perceive your mind and how you perceive yourself and the subtleties of the experience.
Maybe you notice a deeper sense of appreciation for the gentle rhythms inside of you.
Notice a sense of calm and spaciousness within your mind just by paying attention to the subtle sensations and the subtle rhythms inside of you.
And with this awareness,
Take another moment to come back to your body,
Maybe connecting to a few deeper breaths and then taking a moment to close your practice.
Whenever you're ready,
Opening your eyes.
Namaste.
