Learning how to set meaningful intentions can change the shape of our experiences. It empowers us to become more connected with ourselves, and potentially lead a more heart-full life. You plant seeds every single day, in the world and in others, with every thought you think and word you speak and action you take. You have influence. Now, imagine what kind of impact you could have if you chose to create from conscious intent? Plant your seed of intention with this 5 Minute practice.

Before we get started,

Find yourself a quiet comfortable spot where you won't be disturbed.

Make sure that you're in a comfortable upright seated position using any props you need so you can stay seated pain-free throughout this practice.

Whenever you've found a comfortable position,

Close your eyes,

Completely relax your body and turn to stillness.

Let's begin.

Start by taking a moment to feel the floor underneath the body,

Connecting with the qualities of solidity and stability.

Become aware of these qualities and then soften more into your posture.

Open your eyes,

Relax your jaw and grow heavier in the body.

As you inhale,

Imagine breathing in the quality of strength.

Chest expands,

Growing taller into your seat.

And as you exhale,

Imagine breathing in the quality of softness,

Releasing the breath,

Sinking deeper into your posture.

Feeling the balance between these two qualities,

Strength,

Softness and the stillness in between.

As you enter the space of stillness within,

Draw your attention to your heart and inquire within.

What are you struggling with right now?

What challenge,

Emotion or sensation comes to mind?

If you're feeling nervous,

Maybe you would like to bring in more calmness.

If you're feeling restless,

Maybe you would like to bring in more patience.

Allow your challenge to determine your attention for today.

What feeling,

Emotion or characteristic would you like to cultivate more into your day today?

Just one word that you would like to bring into your day.

Let that word go into the background,

But let that quality of the word enter into your heart space.

Feel it at the center of your chest.

What does this word mean to you?

Once you have a sense of that feeling,

Just in your mind's eye,

Go through the day and see what that day would look like if that quality was present.

How would the rest of your day look like if that quality is present?

What would you change or do for yourself if that quality is present?

It doesn't have to mean that this quality will be there all day,

But we use this visualization to practice it and integrate our intention more and more each day.

To close today's practice,

Place the hands at heart center in prayer position.

Allow your head and warm the heart by repeating three times to yourself,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Placing the hands down,

Gently opening the eyes and returning back into the space.

Ready to continue the day with your heart's intention.
