Hello and welcome to your guided meditation for a fresh start or for the new year.

Find comfort in the knowledge that this time is for you and you alone.

I invite you to remain present and open to the experience.

Begin by finding a comfortable seat or a comfortable position.

Allow yourself to settle into any position that feels right for you.

Take the time to adjust your posture until you feel completely at ease.

This is your sacred space for the next few moments.

Gently close the eyes and allow your breath to guide you into the space of reflection.

Adjust your posture so that you can sit with this tall spine,

Shoulders relaxed,

And hands resting comfortably on your lap or on your body.

Allow your body to settle into a position that feels right for you.

Take your time and make any necessary adjustments,

Ensuring that you won't be distracted by discomfort during the meditation.

Now let's turn our attention to the breath.

Inhale deeply through your nose,

Feeling the breath fill your lungs,

And exhale slowly through the mouth.

Let each breath be deliberate,

Like gentle waves of the ocean.

Inhaling and exhaling.

Inhale deeply,

Inviting acceptance into this moment.

Exhale to release any resistance that you might be feeling either mentally or physically.

As you continue to breathe,

Visualize a calming image,

Maybe a glowing candle flame.

Now as you watch this glowing candle flame,

Let this image anchor your focus and provide a sense of calm.

Now let's shift our focus and recall both moments of joy and challenge without judgment,

Without attaching any labels.

Any moments within the past year,

Within the past few months,

Begin to picture them as leaves gently floating down a stream.

Notice the emotions that arise and observe them,

Acknowledge them,

And let them pass by.

Acknowledging its presence without attachment.

Remember you are exactly where you are meant to be.

Now bring to mind moments of gratitude from the past year.

Allow a sense of gratitude to fill your heart.

Now take a moment to think about what energies or intentions you want to bring into this next chapter,

This fresh start,

Or into this new year.

What do you want to experience more of?

If at any point thoughts or distractions do arise,

Gently guide your attention back to your breath.

Inhale deeply,

Exhale slowly,

And anchor yourself in the present moment.

Your breath is a reliable anchor bringing you back to this space of calmness.

Now we're going to embrace a few moments of shared silence and we'll be in the silence for the next two to three minutes.

Allow yourself to simply be,

Letting go of any need to do or achieve.

Allow your mind to rest,

Free from words or thoughts.

Be present in this moment.

Bring your attention back to the sound of my voice as we gently bring this meditation to an end.

Slowly just start to bring awareness back to your body.

Wiggle your fingers and toes,

Slowly open your eyes,

And take in the first color or sound of your surroundings.

Feel the connection between your body and the earth beneath you,

And allow this grounding sensation to stay with you as you ease back into the present moment.

May you carry the calmness and wisdom of this meditation with you into your fresh start,

Slowly stepping into this next chapter with calmness and clarity.

Thank you for joining in this fresh start meditation.

May the coming year be filled with peace,

Acceptance,

And growth.
