An invitation to notice the subtle music of life unfolding all around you. As you settle in, you may feel the quiet delight, soft gratitude and tender awe that come from recognising the beauty of simply being here. Do you have the time to linger for just a little while out of your busy and very important day?

Land here now into your body with ease.

If you're wakeful to the sensations of the body,

Do you feel what's here right now?

A dance of energy,

Pathways of energy,

This physical experience vibrating.

Does this movement of the body change when your attention is placed upon it?

With your attention,

Some sensations amplify and others dissolve.

We thank the mind for all of the important things that it tends to day to day.

In a sense,

Bowing to its power and saying,

Right now you can relax.

Thank you so much.

And if there are thoughts or dreams or plans also here too,

At the same time,

See if you can allow them to sort of pass like mist floating past.

Mist is,

Of course,

Unable to attach to anything.

It's formless,

Shapeless,

Transient in nature.

And if you can sense sort of into the mood of this moment right now,

Is there any content of your mind that might be impacting your body's experience on a physical level?

This insight into how thoughts and images can flavor the tone of the moment.

And whatever is arising,

Hmm,

Whatever experience you're currently having right now,

Can you allow that to simply be the experience that you're meant to be having?

Not trying to change anything.

This is a sort of open and receptive and relaxed attention.

This way of remaining open to whatever arises.

And why would we want to do that?

Just for the sheer delight,

The gratitude,

This gift of being alive right now,

And being able to experience,

Being able to sense.

This takes courage.

It takes courage to stay and meet whatever arises,

Whatever is presenting itself to you.

So if you're having a challenging time staying here,

Even just following this meditation,

Just acknowledging that it's okay,

We're human.

The practice isn't meant to be perfect.

I'd like to close this meditation with a few words inspired by a poem by Mary Oliver called The Invitation.

Do you have the time to linger for just a little while out of your busy and very important day?

For the bell birds have gathered in the trees for a musical battle to see who can sing the most expressive mirth.

Lifting their beaks,

They drink the air.

As they sing,

Melodiously,

Not for your sake,

And not for mine.

But for the sheer delight and gratitude.

Believe us they sing.

It's a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh day.

Do not walk by without pausing to attend to this rather special performance.

It could mean something.

It could mean everything.

Thank you for taking the time to have this special meeting with yourself.

From my heart to yours.

Namaste.
