We all experience emotions that are difficult to be with sometimes,
And most of the time when that's happening,
We want them to be different in some way.
We may be longing for some part of us that is always chipper or always feeling good to come back online,
And we might even think that there's something wrong with us if we feel less than upbeat or less than positive.
And so there may be a narrative playing in your mind,
And there may be some confusion about how to feel or what to feel,
And this meditation is an invitation to be with what you feel,
And not to get lost in it or to stay too long in it,
But to stay with your feelings long enough to let them move through you.
Your emotions will ebb and flow.
They're not intended to stay the same.
They're not intended to always be happy.
You are designed to feel the full cornucopia of feelings,
The full spectrum of being human.
And when we prescribe some idea of how it's supposed to be instead of allowing ourselves to be,
We create more blocks in our natural flow,
And that is what can create a lot of disharmony and imbalance within us.
So I invite you to come into a comfortable position.
Maybe it's lying down or sitting up.
Take a deep breath in and exhale out with sound to begin the meditation.
In this moment,
I give myself permission to feel all that I am feeling.
I give myself permission to be with this feeling without wanting it to be different.
I can be in the space that I'm at right now without judging it,
Comparing it,
Or thinking that there's something wrong with me.
I can be with this feeling without believing that it's bad that I'm feeling this way.
I recognize this feeling as an invitation to slow down and to reflect and to be more introspective.
I give myself permission to receive revelations that might appear in the world that I'm in.
I give myself permission to be with this feeling.
I give myself permission to be with this feeling.
I give myself permission to receive revelations that might appear as I slow down long enough to go beneath the waves of emotion that I am feeling.
I give myself permission to feel all that I feel without wanting it to be different or wanting it to go away.
I can be with how I feel without it overpowering me,
Overtaking me,
Or making me feel less than.
I know that I am powerful even in spite of how I feel in this moment.
I know that I am strong.
I know that I am capable.
I know that these feelings don't mean anything about me.
These feelings are how I feel in this moment.
Take some breaths into your body.
Feel the rhythm of the breath as it moves in and out.
Feel how your body responds to that breath.
Notice the way that your body responds to the permission it has to not feel pressure to be any other way other than what it feels right now.
The weight of having to be different has been lifted and your body can let go and relax.
Allow the tension to start falling away and just let it be this.
Whatever you are feeling in this moment,
Resting into it without wanting or trying to make it different.
Allow yourself to be with the teacher of this moment,
No longer resisting,
No longer fighting,
No longer wanting it to be different.
Begin to take some long,
Slow,
Deep inhale breaths.
Fully releasing the breath and fully inviting it back in.
Allow your eyes to remain closed as you breathe in slowly.
There is nowhere else to be in this moment.
There is no other way to be.
Allow any contracted muscles to relax and give yourself permission to let go.
You can imagine that your body is being restored right now as you breathe in and out slow,
Long,
And measured breaths.
Relax your mind and allow it to connect with ease to the part of your body that feels most calm.
Anchor into that place of calm and allow yourself to rest there.
Let everything else fall away.
Let yourself be calm,
Relaxed,
At ease,
And continue long,
Deep breathing for as long as you need.
Take your time when you're ready to come out of the meditation.
Move your fingers and your toes slowly to bring more awareness back into your body.
Carry the sense of calm with you throughout the rest of your day or into your evening.
Remember,
Your feelings are here to guide you.
Your feelings are here to inform you.
There is nothing right,
Wrong,
Good,
Or bad about your feelings.
They simply are.
Be at peace with them.
Be at peace with yourself.
Sat Naam and Namaste.
