Hi there and welcome to this talk in which I'm going to share all about embracing change and how we can get comfortable with the uncomfortable.
And I'm so excited to have you here today as we dive into something that we all experience,
Which is change.
And let's be real,
Change can feel very uncomfortable.
Even scary sometimes,
I would say.
But what if I told you that often,
The discomfort of resisting change is so much bigger than the discomfort of actually taking action?
So today I would like to share three practical tips with you,
To help you embrace change so that instead of letting it hold you back,
You can use it to propel you forward.
By the end of this talk,
I hope that you will get comfortable with the uncomfortable,
So that it can actually set you free.
Sounds good?
Let's dive in.
So first of all,
Let's talk about reframing the fear of change.
Our brains are wired to seek safety.
So when we are faced with change,
We often feel fear because it's unfamiliar to us.
But here's the thing.
More often than not,
It's the anticipation of change,
The thoughts we have in our minds,
That is what causes the most discomfort.
If you think about it,
How many times have you stayed in a situation that didn't feel right,
Not because you loved it,
But because you were afraid of what might happen if you made a change.
But then once you finally take that step,
You usually find that the fear was way bigger in your head than in reality.
So reframing that fear as a natural part of the process,
And as a signal that you are on the verge of growth,
It can really help you to lean into it instead of avoiding it.
My second tip for you is all about breaking things down and taking small steps instead of giant leaps.
The idea of making a big change,
For example,
Moving to a new city,
Starting a business,
Leaving a job,
It can feel really paralyzing when you think about it all at once.
It can feel like this huge mountain that you have to climb.
But what if you didn't have to do it all at once?
What if you just start with focusing on the first step?
Because often what happens is that the fear builds up when we look at the whole journey,
When we see that giant mountain in front of us.
But the truth is,
Small,
Actionable steps can actually make the process manageable and even exciting.
So for example,
If you're thinking about a career change or about moving countries,
Start by exploring your options.
Talk to someone that has done this before,
Or just dedicate 10 minutes a day to research.
And by taking these baby steps,
You build momentum.
And before you know it,
The fear starts to shrink because your confidence is growing by taking those baby steps.
And when you just focus on the next small action,
The change no longer feels so overwhelming.
It actually starts to feel achievable.
Then the third tip that I have for you,
This is actually my favorite one.
It is all about embracing uncertainty as an opportunity.
We all like to feel in control,
Right?
But here's the truth.
Life is full of uncertainty anyways,
Whether we like it or not.
All we have is change,
Right?
So instead of fearing the unknown,
What if you changed this perspective?
And what if you saw uncertainty as a space where new possibilities can live?
So here's the thing.
The most beautiful unexpected opportunities often come when we step into the unknown.
You know that,
Right?
So why so often do we hold ourselves back?
Because some of the greatest things in life,
Relationships,
Career shifts,
Personal growth,
They all happen in a space where we aren't sure what's going to happen next.
I mean,
If you really think about it,
When do we know what's going to happen next?
We never know,
Right?
So instead of just being fixated on what might go wrong,
Ask yourself,
What if everything goes right?
What if this change leads to something even better than I imagined?
Even better than I expected or that I could think about?
So by embracing the unknown,
You open yourself up to growth,
To new experiences,
And to opportunities that can only come from stepping out of your comfort zone and really embracing that uncertainty as an opportunity.
And here's a powerful truth that I invite you to think about.
Resisting change is often more uncomfortable than taking action.
Think about this.
Resisting change is often more uncomfortable than taking action.
Have you ever noticed that when you avoid a decision or you delay a change,
It's your thoughts that actually keep you stuck in a loop?
You have all those what-ifs building up in your mind,
And it creates this uncomfortable tension and your thoughts are just in this loop that makes you feel stuck.
But then the moment you take action,
No matter how small,
Think about those baby steps,
Right?
That's when the tension starts to ease.
It's like a heavy weight you've been carrying around finally starts to lift off your shoulders.
And by taking that first step,
No matter how uncertain you feel,
It's often far more freeing than just staying stuck in a place that no longer serves you.
So if you think about this,
Then taking action is really the antidote of fear.
Once you start moving,
The fear starts to dissolve.
Or at least,
Even if the fear is still there,
It's at least not holding you back anymore.
And you start gaining this momentum and building your confidence.
So to wrap this up,
Remember this.
It's really normal to fear change.
It's very natural.
But often it's the resistance to change that is holding us back,
Not the change itself.
So by reframing your fear,
And by breaking change into small steps,
And by embracing the uncertainty as an opportunity,
You'll find that the discomfort of change transforms into a powerful source of growth.
So instead of fearing change,
You become excited about the change.
Because you see it as an opportunity.
You see how much it can help you grow.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I hope this inspired you to look at change from a different perspective.
And I can't wait to see how these tips will help you to really embrace change in your life.
Because eventually,
Change is all there is.
So we might as well embrace it and make the most out of it.
And remember,
Whenever you start to take action,
Start with the smallest step.
That is what will ultimately set you free and get you closer to the dream life that you have been imagining.
So to wrap this up,
Ask yourself,
And you can even write this down if you want to,
Or meditate on it for a moment,
What's one small step you can take today?
Maybe there's a change you have been resisting.
How can you start moving towards that?
And if you want to dive deeper into this process,
I invite you to listen to my meditations as well.
Or just send me a message and we can talk about this.
I would love to guide you further into embracing the changes,
Letting go of the fears,
And really changing this and turning it into fuel for growth.
Thank you so much and I hope to connect with you and see you in another talk or one of my guided meditations.
Have a beautiful rest of your day and embrace the change!
