The Buddha said,

Our life is shaped by our mind.

We become what we think.

Joy follows a pure thought,

Like a shadow that never leaves.

Here we are reminded of the power of our thoughts and how they go on to determine the course of our lives.

With practice we can direct our minds and cultivate thoughts of a positive nature,

So we can better serve ourselves and others.

This can bring peace and harmony into our lives and help us live in alignment with our values and who we truly want to be.

With that in mind,

The theme of today is shifting our focus to giving and serving.

Doing the best we can in each moment and living in peace and joy.

Now let's move into our affirmation practice.

Begin by settling into a comfortable position.

Allow your eyes to close and allow your whole body to soften.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and slowly exhale out through your mouth.

Relax the muscles in your face,

Your jaw,

Your shoulders.

Feeling the support of the surface below you.

As you come into the present moment,

Begin to connect with your heart.

Bring your attention to your heart space,

Placing a hand on your heart if you wish.

Take a few slow and deep inhales and exhales,

Breathing deeply into your heart space.

Repeat these affirmations out loud or silently in your mind or simply listen and allow them to sink in.

I am happy and healthy.

I am full of energy and vitality.

I accept whatever life brings to me with courage,

Calmness and compassion.

Instead of asking what can life give me,

I ask what can I give life.

Life is here to teach me.

I surrender to life and do the best I can in each moment.

I am present.

I have the desire and capacity to give which is the highest purpose in life.

I live to give and serve others.

My mind is serene.

My mind is calm like the waters of a still lake.

I meditate deeply and train my mind to take me beyond sorrow.

I am free from fear.

My human life is a blessing as I can discover and realize the truth of who I really am.

I am generous and give freely even when I have little.

I train my mind with constant effort so I think,

Speak and act kindly.

I am at peace and live in joy.

As this session comes to an end,

Allow yourself to be in the stillness,

Remaining in the vibration of the affirmations.

We'll now close the session by chanting the sacred syllable Aum.

Repeat this silently in your mind or if you prefer out loud three times.

Now whenever you feel ready,

Slowly open your eyes and come back to your surroundings.

Have a good day,

Evening or night and thank you for joining me today.
