Welcome,

My friend,

To this guided meditation to cultivate self-compassion and kindness towards oneself.

As you join our journey towards embracing self-compassion and quieting the inner critic,

Let us find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And gently close your eyes.

Take a few deep breaths,

Allowing the breath to flow naturally.

With each inhalation,

Feel yourself becoming more present and grounded in the here and now.

Let us bring our attention to your heart center,

The seat of compassion and love within you.

Let us take a deep breath into your heart center,

Hold for a moment and let go.

Visualize a warm golden light emanating from your heart,

Enveloping your entire being in a cocoon of love and kindness.

Feel the gentle warmth of this light as it spreads throughout your body,

Soothing any tension or discomfort you may be holding onto.

As you continue to breathe deeply,

Imagine yourself cradled in the arms of a loving and nurturing presence,

A presence that accepts you unconditionally,

Just as you are.

Allow yourself to bask in the warmth of this loving embrace,

Knowing that you are safe,

Supported and deeply cherished.

Now bring to mind a moment of struggle or difficulty that you've experienced recently.

It could be a mistake you've made,

A challenge you're facing,

Or a feeling of inadequacy that's been weighing heavy on your heart.

Whatever it may be,

My friend,

Allow yourself to hold it gently in your awareness,

Without judgment or self-criticism.

As you hold this moment in your heart,

Offer yourself words of compassion and understanding.

You might say to yourself,

It's okay to struggle,

It's okay to make mistakes.

I am human and I am doing the best I can with the resources I have.

May I be kind to myself in this moment of difficulty.

With each breath,

Feel the weight of self-criticism and judgment begin to lift,

Replaced by a sense of compassion and kindness towards yourself.

Allow yourself to receive this gift of self-compassion fully,

Knowing that you are worthy of love and acceptance,

Just as you are.
