
Chronic Pain Relief Meditation

This is a quick meditation designed to help alleviate chronic pain and bring some relief. This is a guided meditation without any background sound. Allow yourself to be distraction free as you enjoy this meditation.

Hello and welcome to this meditation to relieve chronic pain.
I'll be guiding you into a very deep state of physical and mental relaxation.
So be sure that you will not be distracted by anyone or any nearby device.
Taking the time to turn them off or placing them in another room on silent.
This time is very important for you so there's no need for any distraction from the outside world.
We may hear noises in my environment or in yours and that's perfectly okay but we want to minimize any extra distractions that might get in the way of us going deeper into this meditation.
You also want to get into a very comfortable position maybe grabbing your favorite pillow or a blanket and your clothes should be loose and comfortable not restrictive around your waist.
You want to be able to be fully comfortable and able to breathe.
For this meditation you can be sitting or lying down finding the position that's best for you and as you take a deep breath you become aware that you're in a very safe and secure place.
This time right now is entirely yours.
Nobody needs you.
You have nowhere to be,
Nowhere to go.
So just be grateful for this moment that's designed exclusively for you.
This occasion of rest and relaxation is a time for you to be able to let go of the things that you don't want to let go of.
This time of rest and relaxation is here to nourish you from the inside out and you deserve this break from the busy world around you.
You know how you make time to hang out with your friends or family or how you make time to help someone or to get a job done?
This time has been made for you to be with yourself.
Allowing for the state with yourself is allowing the natural sources of healing and strength that are within you to become fully present.
Bring awareness to the fact that each moment that passes by is a part of your life experience.
It is here and it is now and then it goes.
It becomes only a memory.
As humans we have a tendency to want things to be different from how we are experiencing them right now.
But we're going to let this desire vanish and allow things to be exactly as they are.
As you take a deep breath,
Do not try to change anything or even wish that there was a change during this session.
Experience letting yourself be exactly how you are in this very moment.
Any judgments you have about yourself or critical things you're doing about your body or your mind,
Allow those things to just fade away.
Those things don't matter at all during this state with yourself.
There's no right way to feel just as there's no wrong way to feel.
Feelings are simply just feelings.
Acknowledge how you're able to sense any sensations in your body in this moment and accept it.
It's completely okay to feel whatever you are feeling.
Good.
Let your arms feel heavy by your sides.
Notice what your fingertips are touching.
Can you feel your thumbs in particular?
What about your pointer fingers?
Sense what they are touching.
And your middle finger.
Now feel what your ring finger is touching.
And finally the pinkies.
And your thumb.
Becoming fully aware of your breath now,
Follow it and don't change anything about it.
Just bring awareness to your belly and observe it's rising and falling with each breath.
Your belly expands and contracts when you breathe just like a little baby when they breathe.
This is the most natural way to breathe.
Now becoming aware of your toes,
Notice each one of your toes and what do they feel like?
And what are they touching?
I wonder if you can imagine that when you breathe in,
Your breath can travel all the way down to your toes.
Let's try that.
All the way down to your toes now.
And then on your out-breath,
Allowing your entire legs to become very relaxed.
Now imagine the same thing for those fingertips.
As you breathe in,
You feel the breath traveling all the way to each fingertip and all the way down to your toes.
And on the out-breath,
Your entire arms become so very relaxed.
Nice job.
Bringing the awareness and noticing again the gentle rise and fall of your belly up and down.
Expanding and contracting.
Now using your beautiful imagination to witness your in-breath is going all the way up to your head,
Filling your mouth and nose and eyes and ears.
And on that out-breath,
Your head becomes more relaxed than it has ever been.
Inhaling all the way into those tiny areas of your brain,
Which restores your mind.
And on the exhale,
Your mind becomes more open and relaxed than it has ever been before.
Very good.
And on the out-breath,
Your head becomes more relaxed than it has ever been.
Whatever feelings you are having right now,
Just notice them as if you were an observer sitting and relaxing on the beach,
Watching the great and powerful ocean that represents you.
You can only see the surface of this ocean,
But below there is much happening and great change taking place.
And right now your body is accessing its natural healing capabilities,
And you don't have to do a thing.
All you have to do is relax and observe.
Just look upon the ocean and know that all is well and all is being taken care of.
All the ocean needs from you is your kindness and your trust.
Very good.
Now allow yourself to relax even more.
Feel the warm gentle sun caressing your skin as you allow yourself to relax even deeper on this beach.
You feel the healing power of the sun,
And you recognize that it allows for all growth of life on earth.
Feeling your feet in the sand,
Feeling your toes in the sand,
Feeling your feet in the sand,
Feeling your feet in the sand,
Noticing how soft and soothing it is.
Perhaps you can even hear the waves crashing.
You are able to fully let go here,
A place for no desires,
No feelings,
No thoughts.
Just being completely present in this moment,
Enjoying watching your ocean,
And knowing that you don't even need to see what's going on beyond the surface.
All is well in the great waters that represent you.

Wonderful.
Now gently allow yourself to become aware of your surroundings and your present moment if you feel ready to end this meditation.
And in your own time,
Go ahead and open your eyes and begin to feel gratitude for yourself and this wonderful experience you just gave.
