Hi and thank you for joining this meditation for overachievement anxiety.

If you have a long-term plan or you're working towards a deadline or you're even hoping that your life will be better in the future,

You might be taking steps towards achieving those results.

As important as it is to work towards goals,

It's also essential to bless ourselves with patience.

We aren't designed to be constant workhorses.

We are human beings who thrive off of connectivity and creativity,

But we must balance our pursuits with equal amounts of rest.

This meditation is designed to help you rest and take a step away from work.

It's also designed to help you rest in the knowing that what is meant to come to you will find you.

We're going to work on taking the energy that you have that's anxious and focused on overachievement and grounding it into the earth.

And after we're done grounding it,

We're going to work on resting in the knowing that we will be okay.

And what I would first like you to do is either find a place seated or lying down where you can adequately rest for this meditation.

Once you've found a place,

Go ahead and get comfortable.

Maybe moving the wrists or moving the neck from side to side,

Wiggling the fingers and toes.

Just really making sure that you are comfortable and set up for the next couple of moments.

When you're ready,

I'd like you to go ahead and take an inhale in through your nose for a count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold at the top for a count of four.

Great job.

Go ahead and return to the breath.

Just allowing the breath to normally come in and go out,

Not trying to force it to be long or short or any particular length.

I'd like you to picture that the energy that you have,

This anxious energy,

I'd like you to picture it as a ball in front of you and just go ahead and picture that ball amassing some kind of form so it's growing in size and just put all that energy that you have,

That anxiety,

That worry,

Put it all in this ball.

Go ahead and bring some more visuals to the ball,

So maybe give it a color.

Maybe give it a texture.

Maybe your ball is solid.

Maybe it's moving.

It can be many different things,

But just go ahead and really get familiar with what this ball looks like.

We're putting all of our negative thoughts into here,

All of our anxieties,

Stresses,

Everything that's fueling our desire to overachieve in a negative way.

It's not really allowing us to rest and trust in divine knowing.

Good.

Now when you have a really clear picture of what this ball looks like,

I want you to go ahead and just take your ball and in your mind's eye,

Just go ahead and raise it in the air and then allow it to bounce down into the earth,

But instead of bouncing back up,

The earth just swallows the energy.

Allow it to just get sucked up by the earth.

Good.

And if you feel like you have any other residual thoughts,

You can go ahead and just take one of your hands and take it towards your head and begin to just energetically pull those thoughts out of your head like you're pulling a string.

Just make sure that you're getting all of those negative thoughts and feelings out of there.

Good.

And with that energy that you pull out,

You can also toss it into the earth and allow it to swallow that energy.

Very nice.

Now go ahead and inhale in and exhale.

Inhale.

I'd like you to sit now with your breath for a couple of moments and just focus on relaxing.

There's no other objective,

No other goal here.

Just focus on relaxing.

If you find a thought or many thoughts try to trickle into your awareness,

Just allow them to dance by you and just don't follow them down the path.

Think of them like the little white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.

They want you to go ahead and follow them,

But you decide not to.

You just decide to watch and observe as they pass you by.

I'm going to go ahead and give you two minutes on the clock here and I'll notify you when the time is up.

Just go ahead and gently allow yourself to relax.

Just go ahead and begin to start bringing some awareness back to your body.

Wiggling fingers and toes.

Breathing in through your nose and out through your nose.

I have a couple of affirmations that I'd like you to take with you on your day today.

Maybe you can just remember them or keep them with you.

The first affirmation is,

I rest in the knowing that my energy provides me with the perfect amount that I can utilize for that day.

I know that I will always be provided for.

My creations are beautiful and I am inherently worthy.

I do not need my creations to prove that I am worthy.

Rather,

They are a bonus of my being.

When you're ready,

You can go ahead and wiggle the fingers and toes and gently open the eyes and begin to return to your day.

Thank you for joining this meditative practice.

I sincerely hope that it helped.

Until next time.
