Hello,
It's Shana Fon,
Also known as Indigo Shea,
Bringing you a meditation on sacred rage.
I want to spend a moment to talk about rage,
And I mean sacred rage.
Rage and anger are things that we often fear.
We fear them because they are such big emotions,
And they can be so destructive,
So uncomfortable.
But really,
They are sacred,
Sacred emotions.
These emotions let us know that something important is going on.
Maybe a boundary has been crossed.
Maybe a need is not being met.
Maybe there's a hurt or a trauma that we haven't been dealing with that rises to the surface.
Whatever it is,
I invite you to take this moment to sit with your sacred rage and see what things it might be trying to communicate to you,
And how you can use it to fuel your path forward.
So please get into a comfortable position,
Either sitting or lying down,
Whatever feels the most comfortable to you.
There is no right or wrong in this process.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
And a long,
Slow,
Grounding exhale.
Allow your body to settle into the support beneath you.
Feel your spine long,
Your body anchored,
And your breath steady.
What you're creating for yourself is a safe space to explore a powerful energy that is ancient and deeply,
Deeply human.
Bring your attention inward.
Notice where the rage might be showing up in your body in this moment.
Perhaps it's in your chest,
Your belly,
Maybe your throat.
See if you can imagine it as an ember burning.
This rage you feel,
This anger,
Is not a mistake.
It's not a bad thing.
It may feel uncomfortable,
And that's okay.
This is an invitation to just sit with what is arising,
Without judgment,
And without needing to change it.
This is a moment to sit with these signals that your body is giving you as clues to what might need to be worked through or worked with.
Like fire,
Rage can burn and destroy.
But also like fire,
It can fuel transformation.
It is our responsibility,
And our responsibility alone,
To learn how to make our rage sacred,
How to tend to it properly,
How to use it for fuel and not allow it to destroy us.
Take a few more deep breaths here.
And notice how the rage may be showing up in your body.
Where do you feel heat?
Where do you feel tightness or pressure?
Breathe into those places,
Turning towards them with compassion,
With gentleness,
With curiosity.
You are not here to push the rage away.
You are here to welcome it in and listen to it.
Rage is sacred because it is also essential for our survival.
It carries the voice of our soul,
Reminding us of our worth,
Our dignity.
Without rage,
We might remain silent in the face of injustice.
We might remain small.
With rage,
When tended to correctly,
We are reminded that we do have power.
We do have the ability to make shifts and changes in our life.
Take another deep breath in through your nose.
And on your exhale,
Just sigh it out through your mouth.
Do this a few more times on your own.
Allow the sound to carry some of your rage.
To release some of it.
Do this one more time.
Inhale deeply.
And exhale with sound,
With vibration,
With presence.
Feel how your body feels.
And it begins to open to your rage.
And your rage is expressed.
Even through your voice,
Vibration,
And breath.
If it feels accessible to you,
I want to invite you to take another deep breath in.
And this time,
Imagine breathing fire out your mouth.
Letting your body shake,
Move,
Stretch,
In whatever way the energy needs to flow.
Trust your body.
It knows what it's doing.
So deep breath in through the nose.
Hold it at the top.
And then breath the fire out.
Let it all out.
Try that one more time on your own.
And just notice what you feel in your body.
Now that you've had a chance to release some of that energy,
I want you to again bring your awareness to the fire within you.
This fire that's not consuming you,
But rather illuminating you.
This is the fire that fuels your courage,
Sharpens your boundaries,
Your intuition.
It lights your path forward.
And you,
And only you,
Are the keeper of this sacred flame.
Connect to your breath.
And just notice what comes up when you reflect on the following questions.
What is my rage protecting?
What truth does my rage want to honor?
And how can I best direct this energy for growth and healing?
Take one more deep breath in,
Feeling this fire alive in your body.
And exhale,
Grounding it into the earth.
Trusting that you have the ability to harness this flame whenever you need.
Place one hand over your heart,
And another hand on your belly.
And whisper to yourself,
My rage is sacred.
My rage is my teacher.
My rage is my power.
Take a few moments here.
No need to rush your process.
Sit with this until you feel like it's time to set it aside.
The music will continue for a little bit longer.
If you'd like to stay in this space.
Or if you'd like,
You can gently open your eyes.
