We are going to do a short body scan.

It can allow you to be aware of your body in the present with energy to start the day.

Let's begin by taking a moment to allow your body to settle into a comfortable position.

You may close your eyes or keep them slightly open.

Let the shoulders soften as we start our body scan.

Today,

As we practice a short body scan,

We will be checking in with our bodies to settle the mind and notice what physiological sensations and emotions might be present.

Begin by taking a full breath in and a long breath out.

Now bring awareness to the top of your body,

Your head,

Face,

Neck,

And shoulders,

Noticing any sensations,

Movements,

Or places of holding.

Now moving down to the arms and the hands,

Sensing the back of the body,

The front of the body,

Sensing yourself seated.

Feel your body's contact with the chair or the cushion.

Now sense your upper legs,

Your lower legs,

And your feet.

Noticing if any particular places call out for attention,

Places where sensations feel most vibrant or dynamic.

Scanning to see if there are places where there is a lack of sensations or only very faint sensations.

Now sensing the whole body breathing.

One complete organism.

Finishing with a full deep breath in and a long breath out.

If your eyes are closed,

Slowly open them.

Get ready to go forth for this day.

Have a beautiful day.
