Hello and welcome to the practice of Yoga Nidra.

My name is Kumari and I will be your guide.

Begin to get settled in the most comfortable way you can create,

Using pillows,

Blanket,

Perhaps an eye cover,

Making your comfort first priority as we journey into deep rest.

Yoga Nidra is a deeply healing,

Effortless guided meditation that guides you into a state of integration,

Which then enables your body and mind to go into a deep state of rest.

And this in turn causes the divine intelligence of your body to awaken.

Your trillions of intelligent cells align into a perfection that supports your entire being to rest and renew for your highest good.

It's like your brain and nervous system getting a delicious massage.

So now that you've settled,

Could you adjust a little more to make yourself even 2% more comfortable?

Allow spaciousness to unfurl around your body,

The space below you,

The air around you,

Your whole being surrendering to deep rest.

Feel into the weight of your body upon the surface you are being held by.

Your bones heavy,

Your muscles receptive to this stillness,

Softening,

Sensing how your entire body is sinking into deep stillness and rest already,

Sinking into the earth's nurturing embrace.

Tune in now to your sacred breath,

Your prana,

Life force energy,

And take in a full expansive inhale and softly retain your breath.

And then exhale slowly and fully,

Emptying out your vessel,

Your sacred temple.

Again,

Let's fully inhale through the nose,

Softly hold,

And now exhale it all out and continue at your own pace with this breath.

Each inhale and expansion up to the sky,

Each exhale and emptying out,

Offering it back to the earth,

Each breath dissolving into the spaciousness of the sky and the earth.

Begin to sense this tuning into pure awareness,

Witnessing your heart expanding into the beauty of connection and stillness.

Your sweetheart,

Feel yourself connecting to your heart space,

Recalibrating,

Coming home.

And now with each following inhale,

Allow yourself to connect with your innate,

Inside,

And outside being.

Connect with your innate inspiration,

Your heart's desire,

Tuning into the joy and wonder of what's to come in your life.

Could you peer into the altar of your own heart?

What is your heart's true desire for your unfolding life?

What would you like to live every day as your true north?

And this is how to form your sankalpa or intention.

Swirl within your heart for a bit longer.

And now,

Can you create a short statement in the positive present tense that represents that desire?

And now silently whisper this back to your heart three times,

Trusting,

Knowing you are planting the seed of your sankalpa deep in your subconscious,

Where it can be nurtured each time you practice yoga nidra and grow and ultimately blossom.

Next,

We'll go on a journey of awareness around the body.

Allow your attention to fill the entire area I mentioned.

When we place peaceful awareness into our bodies,

Those areas can expand,

Release,

And reorganize.

This practice guides us into a deeper state of rest within our physical bodies.

Let us begin inside the mouth.

Send all your attention to your tongue,

The insides of your cheeks,

The gums and teeth.

Sensing the subtle tingly energy in your mouth,

Moving to the lips,

The upper lip,

And the lower lip.

Now sensing both lips at the same time to the nose,

Feeling the breath effortlessly moving in and out of the nostrils,

The right cheek and left cheek,

The right eye,

Sensing the right eyeball within its socket,

The eyelid,

The lower lid,

And now the whole right eye and the left eye,

And sensing the left eyeball within its socket,

The eyelid,

And the lower lid,

And the whole left eye.

Now can you sense both eyes at the same time,

Both eyes held in the darkness of their lids,

Both eyebrows,

Both temples,

To the right ear,

And the right ear and the right ear listening,

Perceiving the right ear and its shape,

The fold,

And now deep into the ear canal,

Sensing the ear canal.

Attention moves now to the center of the brain,

Subtle awareness of the center of your brain.

Gently shift your attention now to the inner ear of the left ear,

And the left ear listening,

And the shape of the tissues of the left ear,

The outer area of the ear.

Now could you notice both ears listening at the same time,

Both ears listening.

Allow awareness to spread to the entire scalp,

The whole scalp alive with subtle sensation,

And now the whole head and face as one region filled with radiant energy,

Radiant energy,

Awareness of both shoulders,

Elbows,

Tune into the elbows,

Both wrists,

And next spread your awareness to both palms,

Both palms warm with your attention to them,

Your palms,

And now up into the fingers and thumbs,

All alive with this subtle sensation of awareness at the tops of the hands,

Both hands and both arms at the same time,

And to the center of the chest,

Sensing the center of your chest in all directions,

Subtle expansion and release as you effortlessly breathe.

To the rib cage,

The rib cage softly moving with each breath,

The gentle flow of your breath in and out,

The abdomen,

Breath influencing the softest movement in the upper and lower abdomen,

Sense and feel the entire abdomen,

And now both hips,

The knees,

Ankles,

Ankles,

And now to the soles of both feet,

The soles of the feet,

The heels,

The arches,

The balls,

All softly vibrating.

To the toes,

All 10 toes,

Sensing all 10 toes at the same time,

And the tops of the feet,

Both feet together,

Both legs together,

The hips and buttocks,

The shoulder blade,

The back of your head,

And now begin to become aware of your whole body,

Let your attention fill your entire body,

Your total body as one unified container of radiant energy.

Slowly come back to the softness of your natural breath,

The natural cosmic rise and fall of your breath,

Tuning into the rhythm without changing your breath,

Send your awareness back to your right palm.

Now imagine you can breathe in through the right palm,

Up the arm to the center of your chest,

And then exhale from there,

Down your left arm to the palm of your left hand,

And then breathing in from the left palm to the center of your chest,

And out through the right arm and palm.

Continue with this breath visualization,

Keeping your breath as one easy continuous flow.

Begin to send all your attention into the right side of your body,

The right side of your body flooded with your own awareness,

Your right leg and foot,

The right side of your torso,

Your right arm and hand,

The right side of your head.

Feel the right side of your body,

Slowly melt your awareness into the left side of your body,

Your left leg and foot,

The left side of your torso,

Your left hand and arm,

The left side of your head,

Feel the left side of your body,

Fade your awareness back over to the right side,

The right side,

Your left side falling away for now.

And now again,

Melting your attention into your entire left side once more,

As the right side falls away.

Allow yourself to meld the two sides now.

Now your consciousness flowing into the awareness of your whole body,

Your whole body as a subtly shimmering vessel,

Floating,

Floating in the awareness,

The oneness of the entire universe,

A sense of being held,

Cradled,

Witnessing the vastness of space all around below,

Floating on a journey of pure awareness,

Complete presence,

Welcoming visuals,

Welcoming thought fluctuations,

Welcoming it all as an observer with no attachment,

Buoyant in space,

Perfect freedom,

One with your true brilliance.

Could you begin to sense your sankalpa here with you?

It may show itself as a single word or a felt sense.

Allow it to mingle with your entire being.

You might repeat it in your mind a few more times,

Asking here for another few moments in the fullness of all that is.

Return to the awareness of your breath now.

Tune into where your body moves as you breathe.

From here,

Welcome some even deeper breath,

Your life force energy permeating every nook and cranny of your body,

Bringing your awareness back to your body.

Begin to make any small movements you feel inspired to make and gradually coming to rest on your side if you're lying down,

Taking in and noticing how you're feeling.

Just resting here for another few minutes.
