Hi,

It's Mary.

Right now,

Everything feels like too much.

Your to-do list is endless,

Priorities are unclear,

And you feel like you're drowning in responsibilities.

I've been there,

And I'm here to help you find your way back to clarity.

First,

Let's acknowledge what overwhelm really is.

It's not actually about having too much to do.

It's about your nervous system feeling unsafe because it can't see a clear path forward.

We're going to start by getting you out of your head and back into your body.

Place both feet flat on the floor.

Feel the solid ground beneath you.

You are supported even when your mind feels chaotic.

We're going to come back to the breath,

And I encourage you to feel your breath coming down into your belly,

Relaxing your shoulders and softening your chest.

As you start to feel your breath move through your body like this,

We're going to take three deep conscious breaths to create space between you and the overwhelm.

Breathe in,

Down to the belly,

And as you breathe out,

Remind yourself,

I am not my to-do list.

Breathe in,

And as you breathe out,

I am not my obligations.

Breathe in,

And as you breathe out,

I am capable of handling what's in front of me.

Here's what we're going to do.

Instead of trying to figure out everything at once,

We're going to identify just three things.

Not 30,

Not 13,

Just three.

Ask yourself,

If I could only accomplish three things this week,

What would have the biggest impact?

Don't overthink this,

Just trust your first instincts.

Good.

Now,

Of those three things,

Which one would you feel most relieved to complete?

That's your starting point.

Overwhelm often comes from trying to hold everything in our mind simultaneously,

But your brain works better when it has one clear focus at a time.

Here's your action plan.

Choose that one priority.

Break it down into the smallest possible first step,

Not the whole project,

Just the very next action you need to take.

Maybe it's making one phone call.

Maybe it's opening one document.

Maybe it's scheduling one meeting.

Remember,

You don't have to do everything today.

You don't even have to do everything this week.

You just need to take the right next step.

Your overwhelm is actually information.

It's telling you that you've been trying to carry out too much mental load.

This is a signal to prioritise,

Delegate or simply accept that some things might wait.

You have everything you need to move from chaos to clarity.

You have good judgement.

You have problem solving skills.

You have the ability to focus on what truly matters.

Start with one thing,

Then the next,

Then the next.

Clarity comes through action,

Not through thinking.

You've got this.

Short and simple for a very overloaded mind.

Karly

I was in tears when I found this. The overwhelm still lingeries but is now manageable. The overwhelm now seems doable & much less critical! I no longer feel like I'm drowning. (You nailed it.) I will be ruminating on, "Clarity comes from doing....". My thoughts instantly gave me feedback with resistance. But my thoughts don't get to drive the train. I do. It was.the support & shift I needed to quiet the sobbing. Another takeaway is to practice, "I am capable" affirmations. You brought a new perspective as to "why" I'm feeling the overwhelm in the first place! Thank you greatly!
