This is a short meditation on senses.

It works magic for when you're feeling overwhelmed or stressed out and when you want to come back to your own ground,

To the sense of calm and peacefulness always available to you.

So you begin in any position,

Either sitting or laying down.

You want to make sure that you have about five to seven minutes to yourself where no one can disturb you.

So maybe put a.

.

.

Maybe turn off your phone,

Put it on do not disturb,

Somehow indicating to your body that this time is just for yourself,

To be with yourself,

To spend a couple of minutes in your own company.

And as usual,

We begin by taking a couple of deep cleansing breaths.

So take a deep inhale,

Hold it at the top.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One,

And exhale.

And maybe repeat this again by taking a deep inhale.

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One,

Followed by a long exhale.

Let it go.

Breathe it all out.

So we begin by asking our mind,

Our body,

The following question.

What are some of my most favorite smells?

What are the smells that I enjoy?

That,

In my memory,

I associate with something warm and beautiful.

Could be smells coming from nature,

Could be smells coming from your kitchen,

From baking,

Maybe smells from childhood,

Your favorite flowers,

Your favorite fragrance.

So we allow ourselves,

Our bodies,

To become immersed in that memory,

Whatever that is,

And taking a couple of breaths as if the air around us right now would be suffused with that particular smell,

Or maybe even a couple of smells.

So we are letting ourselves be held by that memory,

And if at that time we also have other thoughts or sensations or memories or conversations crossing our mind,

That's okay too.

That's perfectly normal.

That's perfectly fine.

We're just taking a couple of moments to immerse ourselves in some of the memories that bring us that sense of warmth and maybe some lighter feelings.

And then,

Whenever you're ready,

You can also consider what are some sounds that I remember that I associate with feelings of maybe either tranquility or joy or freedom.

Whatever that sound is for you that you remember,

You go,

That was a beautiful sound to listen to,

And it's different for different people.

So for you it might be the sound of waves at the ocean,

Maybe the sound of running water,

Maybe waves at the lake or rain,

Could be the sound of breeze or wind or leaves rustling in the wind.

Whatever that is,

Taking a moment or two to be with that sound in the embrace of that sound.

And then again,

Whenever you're ready,

You can also remember some of the most beautiful things that you had encountered in your life.

So activating your memory of the sense of gazing or seeing,

Looking,

Adoring,

Beholding,

Remembering something you saw that either maybe made your heartbeat a bit faster or just gave you a sense of satisfaction of,

Thanks heaven I had this moment in my life,

Thanks heaven I saw it.

So it could be maybe a beautiful sunset or a face of a person you love,

Or maybe a scene from nature or a piece of art.

Whatever that is for you,

We can take a moment and cherish that memory.

So remembering the colors,

The texture of what you saw,

Remembering that moment in all its vivid details,

And allowing that memory to permeate every cell of your body and to bring a sense of relaxation,

Gratitude,

Feeling of fulfillment,

And letting that memory,

Whatever joy is associated with it,

Fill every cell of your body so you become tuned to that wave of beauty,

Fascination,

Gratitude.

And then maybe taking another couple of moments just to breeze with all of the three memories,

The memory of smell,

The memory of sound,

The memory of seeing something beautiful,

And then again taking a couple of moments to breeze with all of that,

Maybe literally 10-15 seconds,

And then whenever you're ready you can begin transitioning to your more regular active state of being,

Which,

You know,

Might involve opening your eyes or moving slightly,

Maybe moving your fingers and toes,

So reactivating the body,

Allowing yourself to gently and slowly come back into a more active mode and then continue with your day.
