This is a brief pause,
Offering a few gentle invitations into your body,
Into the space around you,
And into something that feels supportive.
We'll begin with your eyes open,
Simply noticing what's already here.
Start by noticing where your body makes contact.
The ground beneath your feet,
The chair or surface holding you.
Let yourself feel that contact for a moment,
Allowing your system to register a small sense of safety.
You might quietly acknowledge,
I feel my body and the support beneath me.
Now let your eyes rest on one small detail in the room,
A shape,
A color,
Or something familiar.
Then notice one sound,
Near or far,
That helps orient you here.
If there's any discomfort or pain,
Allow it to be included.
There's no need to focus on it or push it away.
Notice it while also staying aware of the support beneath you and the space around you.
Both can exist at the same time.
Now bring to mind one thing that feels comforting or steady.
A person,
A place,
A memory,
Or a simple sense of ease.
Let that feeling sit alongside whatever else you're noticing.
When you're ready,
Gently widen your awareness again,
Taking in the room,
The sounds,
The support beneath you.
You can return to this brief pause anytime you need a microdose moment of safety.
