Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
In this session we're going to focus our attention on gratitude.
Gratitude is one of the most powerful ways we have to change our mindset and get into better alignment with the universe.
For many people having a gratitude journal or keeping a daily practice of Thanksgiving can be a game-changer.
Sometimes however we focus all our attention on feeling grateful but forget to express our gratitude to others.
So for today's meditation we are going to brainstorm all the ways that we are grateful and then how we can show our appreciation and put our gratitude back into the world.
Let's start with getting into a comfortable seated position.
We will start with three deep breaths.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Good.
Now I want you to think of someone in your personal life that you are grateful for.
It could be a partner,
A family member,
Or a friend.
Think about what it is about them that you're grateful for.
Maybe it's the support that they've given you during a difficult time or it's the good times that you've had together.
The listening ear that they've given.
Think for a moment and then take the time to feel that gratitude.
Now I want you to think of different ways that you can express your gratitude to this person.
Maybe you can tell them verbally how much you appreciate them or is there a thoughtful gesture that you know they would appreciate.
Take a moment and think of different ways you can show or express your gratitude.
Now I want you to think of someone in your professional life that you are grateful for.
A co-worker that you can rely on.
A client you've done good business with.
Maybe someone that served as a teacher or mentor.
Take a moment and think of someone you are grateful for.
Wonderful.
Now take a minute and think how you can show your appreciation.
Maybe bring in some snacks to work.
Maybe let your boss know about a team member who's been doing a good job.
Take some time and brainstorm.
Now I want you to think of a place you are grateful for.
Maybe it's a local park or your favorite restaurant.
Think of this place and what it is about it that you are grateful for.
Maybe you've had some wonderful times there.
Maybe it's a place that provides an important service to you like your dentist.
Think of how grateful you are for this place.
Now how could you show your appreciation?
Maybe you can leave them a good review.
It's human tendency to want to complain more than praise and many of us are more likely to leave a critical review than a glowing one.
Is it a place you can volunteer at like a park or that you can donate money to like a shelter?
How can you support this place that you are grateful for?
Now take a moment to think of anyone or anything that you're grateful for that we missed.
How can you show or express your appreciation?
Now as we end this meditation I want you to choose one of the actions that you brainstorm this session and make a commitment to doing it in the next 24 hours.
Gratitude is an incredible force for our own well-being but combining it with enlightened action makes it even more powerful both for ourselves and for the people in our lives.
In closing we'll take one more deep breath in and out.
Thank you for joining me for today's meditation.
Have a beautiful day.
