This Yoga Nidra is dedicated to resting in intuitive portals of the body so that you may connect to your knowing,
Your inner wisdom and sense of trust.
So begin to settle down into the place where you're lying,
Inviting there to be a circle around you so that you might create a sense of safety and protection for this moment and for this practice.
And your circle can be made of anything that you like,
It could be the moonlight or candlelight,
Your favourite trees or plants or perhaps even your favourite animals or people.
Surrounding yourself with the kinds of things that will hold you safe throughout this practice.
Drawing your attention into the heart space,
Into this place of knowing and inviting a blessing into this space to welcome in the spirit of intuition,
To welcome in resting in the parts of you that know all that they need to know,
To know that all seeds are welcome to grow and unfurl in these places.
So I invite you to take a journey around your body to invite in rest into the places and the spaces so that you might arrive into a soft place of knowing,
To move out of the vastness and busyness of doing.
We come into our knowing when we are rested and when we are still and when we feel at peace.
So placing your awareness into the palm of your right hand,
To invite in rest in between the fingers of the right hand.
The right hand might soften with this awareness here into the palm of the hand and the back of the hand.
The whole of the right hand perhaps could be resting.
Awareness resting on the right wrist to soften the places and spaces all the way up the right arm,
The right forearm and elbow and upper arm.
Softening into the right shoulder,
Softening the places and spaces in between the right side of the ribcage,
The right waist soft,
The right hip soft.
Awareness flowing down the right leg to soften into the right thigh,
Right knee,
The right shin.
Softening the right big toe and second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe and fifth toe.
The whole of the right leg is resting.
The whole of the right side of the body inviting and receiving rest.
Placing awareness into the palm of your left hand,
Inviting in rest to the left hand thumb and index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and little finger and the spaces between the fingers resting,
Softening.
Softening the back of the hand,
The left wrist,
Left forearm and upper arm,
The whole left arm resting.
Softening,
Inviting the left shoulder to soften and the places and spaces in between the left side of the ribcage to soften to rest.
The left waist soft,
Left hip soft.
Spreading awareness all the way down the left leg,
Inviting softness and rest throughout the left thigh,
Left knee,
Left shin,
Left ankle.
Inviting rest into the left big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe and fifth toe.
The whole of the left side of the body inviting and receiving rest.
The whole of the right side of the body inviting and receiving rest.
The left side and the right side together resting.
The middle back resting.
Upper back resting.
Back of the neck,
Back of the head and the crown of the head inviting and receiving rest.
Placing awareness on the space between the eyebrows,
Inviting in softness and rest into the space between the eyebrows.
Perhaps imagining how the breath might flow in and out of this space as if you could massage this intuitive portal of knowing.
Softening the right eyelid,
Softening the left eyelid,
Softening right cheek and left cheek,
The mouth,
The tongue,
The jaw.
The whole front of the body inviting and receiving rest.
The whole back of the body inviting and receiving rest.
And from this rested place I invite you to direct your attention into the belly so that as you breathe in the belly can expand,
Breath flows in here like a greeting.
A warm hello into the belly that might flow all the way up to the heart space,
A greeting from the belly to the heart.
And as you breathe out that breath flowing all the way back down from the heart to the belly.
So the belly and the heart have a flow of breath moving between these two places of knowing,
Each breath like a greeting flowing between these two places of intuition and knowing.
So perhaps taking the next ten rounds of breath in this way to direct your breath from the belly like a warm greeting up to the heart space,
The heart receiving the greeting and then as you breathe out that greeting can flow from the heart all the way back down to the belly.
Each breath you take creates a greater sense of expansion.
And each breath you take brings you into a greater place of connection.
And from this expansive and connected place I invite you to rest in the places where you hold your knowing and trust.
It could be the belly,
It could be the heart or it could be somewhere else entirely different.
And perhaps arriving into that place with a question.
Taking a moment to feel into the question and to tune into whatever arises.
It could be a word,
It could be an image or perhaps a song or some colours.
Holding those images or words in the heart space,
Your warm words and blessings of guidance for your next steps.
Then taking a moment to move your awareness into places of trust and openness in the body.
And you can do this through your breath.
So you could breathe into places of expansion and openness of when you have felt trusting and what that felt like in the body to be trusting.
Direct your breath into that place of openness and expansion,
A sort of yes-ness in the body.
And as you breathe out,
Moving your awareness into places when you haven't felt trusting,
When you've known something isn't quite right.
It could be a small tight place,
Just directing your attention to that space.
And then flow with your awareness as if you could step into each place of trusting and knowing and feeling like it's not right and not trusting.
With every breath that you take,
Breathing into trust and expansion,
Breathing out of trust and into a place of smallness.
And moving your breath in this way,
Perhaps weaving your question between these places with a gentle inquiry and see if anything else arises.
And taking a deep breath in as if you can gather all of the gifts from this practice into the heart space,
Gathering them all into the heart like warm blessings,
So you can hold them there and return to them any time you like,
Knowing that this practice for intuitive connection is now complete.
