In 7 minutes, we will use our breath and awareness to come back home to ourselves. With the changing seasons, we can begin to feel ungrounded. When we intentionally connect our experience with the experience around us, we can feel more grounded and at peace with life. In this autumnal meditation, we focus on the energy of change. You will be invited to unpack something that is requesting release in your life.

Welcome.

Thank you for joining me for this short meditation.

For the following seven minutes,

We'll be listening to our breath and grounding ourselves into the autumn energies.

As we approach the changing of the season,

The fall weather,

The leaves on the trees start to change.

The air around us gets drier and more crisp.

We may feel an urge within our bones that something in our life also needs to change,

Like the leaves of the tree ready to fall.

As you begin to settle in,

Find a place where you feel comfortable,

Your spine feels strong in its seat,

Chest is broad,

Shoulders relaxed,

Jaw,

Face,

Even your chin is slightly relaxed.

Let yourself be guided into a space of peace in this moment,

As peaceful as you can be.

Begin to draw your awareness to the sounds in your space.

Maybe there's a four-legged that is walking around you,

A cat or a dog,

Or maybe someone else that you live with.

As you notice their footsteps or their nails clacking on the ground,

Allow yourself a gentle smile,

Deep appreciation and gratitude for this other being who shares air,

This crisp fall air with you.

Tuning more into your breath,

Allowing your belly to fully expand,

Letting the inhale that inspiration all the way up into the upper lobes of the lungs.

On your exhale,

Give something back,

Release something,

Whether that's gratitude,

Maybe something you've been carrying.

Allow it to release into the air.

Continue like this,

Breathing in deeply,

With every exhale surrendering one more thing as you can.

Letting your eyes be soft or if they're already closed,

Allow them to sink even deeper into their sockets.

Flip the palms up on the lap,

Connect your thumb and pointer finger in the okay symbol,

A mudra for peace and meditation,

Commonly used as the okay symbol,

Everything's going to be okay,

Everything is okay in this moment.

Be here right now,

Present with your breath.

Now flip the palms down to rest on your lap,

Keeping the okay mudra.

Begin to feel wherever your seat is connected to your chair or your feet against the earth.

Draw your breath into this place,

Feeling the energy of autumn,

The energy of change.

In this moment,

What comes forward for you of one thing that you need to release or that you could release to help you be more at ease and more at peace in your everyday life?

What is it in your life that needs to change?

Is it an engagement that no longer fits,

A relationship that needs to be released or renegotiated?

Whatever comes up,

Let that sit with you.

And with every breath,

Give over any resistance to whatever's come forward back into the earth below you.

Knowing that the great earth mother can hold all of our resistances,

All of our emotions.

She can hold our pain and our sorrow,

Our indecisiveness.

She supports us all,

The great mother.

With great gratitude,

Thank her for all that she does for you and helping you release and surrender just like the leaves of the autumn tree.

Gently fluttering your eyes open,

Feeling even 5% more at peace in this moment,

Allow yourself to return to your environment and perhaps calmly write down this one thing that needs to change and perhaps one small step that you can take toward creating that shift and change in your life.

Change doesn't have to be huge and dramatic,

It can be the result of many small steps in the right direction.

With love and deep gratitude,

Thank you for joining me today.
