Greetings beautiful soul.

My name is Akili and I will be guiding you on this short meditation journey to embracing change.

Begin in a comfortable seat or lying down,

Straight spine honoring the needs of your body.

And when you're ready,

You can gently begin to close the eyes or find a gentle gaze right beyond the nose.

As we open the container to our meditation practice,

We'll start with our breath.

Let's take a deep breath in together and a full breath out.

Another deep breath in through the nose and a slow breath out through your mouth.

Again,

Breathe in through your nose,

Filling your belly with air,

Noticing the ribcage expand,

Holding the breath at the top.

And then exhale slowly,

Like a gentle wave leaving the shore.

Let's do that two more times.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Inhale.

Exhale.

Now release that breath work technique and come back to your natural rhythm.

Just noticing your breath as it flows in and out of your body.

Let the rhythm of your breath soften your mind and settle your thoughts.

Change is always happening within us,

Around us,

One of the only constants in life.

But in this moment,

Grace yourself the permission to pause,

To become aware of what's shifting in your life without needing to fix it,

Force it,

Or even understand it.

Notice your body supported by the earth beneath you.

Filling into the parts of your body,

Making contact with your bed,

The ground,

Your mat,

Your chair.

Feel the coolness of your inhales and the warmth of your exhales.

Your breath moving like wind,

Always changing,

Always flowing,

A reflection of life.

Now begin to notice your heart space.

If it feels good and natural,

Place your right hand on your chest.

And as you inhale and exhale,

Whisper to yourself silently,

I am safe to change.

I trust the unfolding.

I am allowed to outgrow old versions of myself.

Let these words wash over you.

Let your breath,

Your life force energy anchor them in.

If you notice any tension coming up,

Or if you notice your mind starting to wander off,

Come back to the gentle rise and fall of your ribcage and your belly.

As you breathe with intention,

Inhale,

Receive,

Exhale,

Release.

You are not the same person you were yesterday,

Or even moments ago.

And that's okay.

Growth may feel like letting go,

Like grief.

It may feel like becoming softer and more vulnerable.

It may even feel uncertain and intimidating.

But you are held.

You are becoming.

You are held.

You are becoming.

As we begin to close,

Let's lean into a few grounding breaths together.

Inhale through the nose slowly.

Exhale through the mouth.

Inhale.

Exhale.

One more time.

Inhale.

And exhale everything out.

Ah.

Start to notice your body.

Bringing awareness back into the space.

Wiggle your fingers.

Maybe you curl your toes.

And when you're ready,

Gently open the eyes.

Or focus your gaze.

Take your time rising up.

And as you go about your day,

Remember to carry this softness with you.

And remember,

You're allowed to shift again and again and again and again.
