In the classics of Chinese medicine,
We learn that the heart is the monarch,
The supreme controller and sovereign over all other organ systems,
Our entire being,
Physical,
Mental,
Emotional and spiritual.
Our heart is God's representative on earth.
More than just a physical pump,
It is where we feel our deepest passions and love.
Love is the current that connects us to each other and reaches out to the furthest corners of the body,
The kingdom,
With each single heartbeat.
The heart is a fire element,
The only element that humans can produce,
And is a symbol of divinity,
Transformation and purification.
It controls the blood,
The blood vessels and is in charge of circulating the blood through those vessels,
Characterized by waves of expansion and contraction that has no need for a nerve supply from the brain.
It is where our spirit resides,
Our overall vitality,
Which is observed through our complexion and our eyes.
The heart corresponds to the summer season,
Our stage of peak power in the seasons of our lifetime,
The proliferation of flowers.
Every bud and leaf comes fully into being at this time,
Animals lose their thick coats and even humans reveal themselves more in the heat of the sun,
Curiously revealing our more vulnerable open sides too.
It is the heart's power of emotion and connection that allow us as humans to interact and relate to each other.
The heart gives love freely when open and mediates between outreach and letting people in.
The fourth chakra houses the heart,
Its color is green and its essence pure love.
If you have an emerald,
Jade or malachite,
These are powerful,
Calming and open-hearted vibrations to place onto your open heart chakra.
Your heart receives direct input from its senses,
Therefore events outside the body can directly change your heart rate,
Just like fire,
Quick,
Volatile and direct responses to whatever it finds in its path.
Find a quiet place,
Sit or lay down,
Uncross your legs and allow your spine to go soft and let's begin with some cleansing breaths.
We're going to breathe in for the count of four,
Hold the breath for the count of four,
Breathe out for the count of four,
And hold out for the count of four.
Breathe in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Breathe out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Breathe in,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Breathe out,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Hold out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Open your eyes behind your eyelids,
Soften your jaw,
Allow your tongue to go loose in the palate and imagine stepping into an energy shower.
From the crown of your head,
Allow the energy to wash down your face and pool into your heart space.
Notice the texture of the energy,
Colour,
The smell or even the sound as it pools into your heart.
As it gathers in your heart space,
A ball of energy and light gathers and begins to rotate like a sphere or figure of eight that gets stronger and stronger as it rotates fed from the heavens and feel your heart space soften.
Notice an eagle or phoenix soaring above or sitting beside you or within you.
She is a symbol of renewal and transformation in you.
See with her eyes,
Feel her power,
Grace and beauty.
This eagle or phoenix lives in your heart space.
She allows you to commit to intimacy,
Joy and love.
She integrates the masculine and feminine parts of you so we are no longer seeking our missing self externally.
She allows you to feel connection,
Share knowledge and wisdom and most importantly,
Feel joy.
To connect heart to heart with another person,
Use your eagle eyes.
Allow the ball of energy to grow in your heart space,
Cleansing rotations.
The heart channel begins at the deep level in the tissues of the heart itself.
One deep path travels up the esophagus and mouth and into the eyes,
The other through the lungs and into the armpits.
Visualize your phoenix,
Follow your channel as we slowly move along the path.
She may settle or perch at each point or she may soar high above each space,
Seeing the bigger picture whilst looking down with eagle eyed precision at the smaller details.
Point one,
Utmost source,
Tucked up into the armpit,
Protected by the arm,
Is the spring point,
The source of qi.
Here we are guided by spirit and the development of our individual life unfolds.
This point regulates yin and the heart,
It is a free flow portal,
Connecting us to the ultimate source of love,
The ability to feel the warmth of relationships and feel at one with others.
Utmost source warms our spirit,
Here we return chaos to natural order.
Heart two is level with the heart on the arm,
Blue green spirit,
Intense revitalization and renewal of spirit happens here,
Heaven and earth meet and deep joy lives.
This is the color of life,
Once you are on your throne at heart one,
Heart two moves into proper control of life,
The art of just being.
We move to the elbow point,
Little c,
Heart three,
This a water point,
Cools and calms the spirit,
Tranquility is assured,
As it regulates the heart and then goes deeper,
Rooting the kidney and the heart together,
Here is the exchange between heaven and earth.
Like the mist on top of the sea,
Rising to connect to the heaven,
Heaven will always respond to this exchange.
Imagine like a falconer now,
You're holding your arm outstretched for an eagle to return back to and land on.
Three finger widths up from the wrist is heart four spirit path,
This point illuminates the way back to our truest path,
Satisfies our real needs and then gently guides us to our next steps.
As a metal point we tune into natural rhythms and instincts here,
We connect and lift through the lungs for direction and purpose,
To reach the ultimate truth,
The ultimate reality for ourselves.
Just below spirit path,
Two finger widths up from the wrist,
Heart five,
Penetrating inside,
An important junction point that takes warmth externally to the inside of us all.
Connecting to the tongue to strengthen the communication with life,
Here we can lift any external mask you wear and contact your own true essence,
To make one's way in life without any restrictions or barriers,
To find harmony on our journey.
One finger width now from the wrist,
An accumulation point called yin mound.
This is the point where blood and qi mingle and release stagnant qi,
It nourishes and calms,
Steady and peaceful,
Which means strong heart,
Mind and spirit for us all.
This is the perfection of yin,
A mound or gap,
The side of a valley shaded,
Complemented by the sunny side,
Here we have a void and a window of time to seize the moment.
On to the inner wrist,
Spirit gate,
The gate to the earth,
Here we live enriching and rooting,
Like all gates they must open and close freely,
Open to love,
Joy,
Inspiration and fun,
And then close safely to nourish and nurture love and warmth.
It's not a door,
It's a gate.
Life can intermingle around it,
The comings and goings of life.
Heart eight,
Lesser palace,
Sits neatly on the palm,
A fire point meeting fire,
Sense of self and deep joy in life reside here,
Like fire in the palm of your hand,
Shake off the ashes for new growth.
This is a place to rest and revitalise,
Shake off burdens and any drains that we may have,
Resurrect our spirit,
Recharge with renewed energy.
This is about filling moments with spirit,
Not power.
In health,
One has an open,
Empty heart,
Filled only with the movements of spirit.
Finally the end of our little finger,
Heart nine,
Little rushing in,
Here we bring the quality of wood to the depths of the supreme controller,
Clarity of our vision,
Self-assertion and direction,
A new sense of new beginnings,
Hope and optimism here.
The effect of this point can be a new awakening for those who have perhaps lost hope,
Require a brilliant change of state or needing to see suddenly with fresh eyes,
Rushing to our core without hesitation,
Confusion or doubt,
We finish and pause here,
Know that you are safe in your growth as here,
Little rushing in is your mother point.
Now take a smile through your heart,
Soar high with your phoenix and eagle and allow her gently to come and rest and perch inside your heart space and have a lovely day.
