So I was inspired by the thought of curiosity so actually I was curious about being curious and I might have recorded a happy clappy about curiosity before but do you know what it's all about new content isn't it and everything I say it's very extemporaneous I talk as I think I don't write with a script I just go with my own natural flow so I hope you're okay with the way my mind works it just keeps on coming through being curious you know what when you are when you start to think about so if you start to ask questions the who the how the what the where the when the why although it has to be said when I was doing my coach training because for those of you that you don't know I'm a qualified coach and I've done so much stuff since qualifying ten years ago but it's this is seen as confrontation because when you actually think about when you say well why are you doing that somebody can sort of back off and go oh you get a bit defensive so it's always nice to use the who how what when and how that's it and actually if you have those questions and you use them in life you know it's curious when you apply them when you start to think and explore that's where curiosity takes you you can look into things you can find out information there are always more options and ways of looking at things I've had numerous conversations recently in all sorts of guises to be perfectly honest although I will reference a coaching client I was speaking to last week and it was really interesting the scenario that was being shared with me that he wanted sort of help with it or getting or resolving etc just by some really great sort of open question because I could being sort of distance from the situation I could see stuff things come into me quite intuitively I guess through all the experience I've had in the world of recruitment dealing with clients and candidates and situations and stories and running my own business things just sort of they just reveal themselves I have to restrain myself from actually delivering the answer to clients because it's not for me to tell somebody what to do but it's for them to explore to be curious and to find that answer within but through the power of coaching and good questions the curious let questions you know but once which always got that question mark on the end but will facilitate an open answer not a closed yes or no clients then have the opportunity to explore and find their own answers because they know and it was yeah it was really interesting because as he explored talked to me and shared with me the scenario that he was experiencing so then revealed the solution to what he needed the answer to to in order to progress forward equally so in sharing with him my sort of experiences which is what I like to do in terms of observation it was a it enabled him to see the scenario the situation that he was in from a completely different perspective and as a result he had came away went away with two nuggets of inspiration in terms of aha moments you know as I say nuggets to then really move forward and get unstuck and that I think that is the power of coaching but it's that curiosity it's that for me as a coach I'm being curious I'm asking questions clients are then able to ask questions of themselves and dig deep and find that answer from within but it doesn't need to be just within a coaching session you can ask these questions of yourself so whatever situation you're in right now and you may be facing a situation where you need or it could be a situation circumstance call it whatever it is that you might be facing at the moment and you need to find an answer for ask yourself questions how could I look at this in a different way what's a different angle to it who could help me who knows more information than I do about this who could I ask who can help me where can I go how can I explore what does Google say you know because today's world we've got so many answers at our fingertips we can find those answers if we think beyond the tram lines that we can all too easily jump on board because let's face it we need routine to a degree because if every single day was completely different to the next no day is alike I have to be I have to be honest with you know no one day is alike but I do have a structure within that I do have a structure you know to what time I kind of get up there about and what I know I need to get done throughout the day it's not like I'm sort of one day doing something completely completely different to the next but I integrate my coaching my writing social media conversations with people you know right now I'm exploring other avenues in relation to Instagram and how I can sort of monetize that and how I can move things around and explore because so much happens in this world so quickly it's difficult to be on top of everything but we've got to go with our gutter go with our flow but equally so remain open-minded and curious and feel our way through things and trust that what we're doing is right but if what we do is wrong not berating ourselves it's about taking the learning and moving forward with the learning and going ah as I said Gareth and I have been talking about something this morning and it's like well oh actually we were taught we were discussing something a situation a circumstance something that we're exploring right now you know we look we we're being curious again come back to being curious we were exploring part of what we've already experienced exploring and then we referenced back some information that we'd learned previously went ah oh that's interesting because actually if you stop and you think there is information there you may well have been guided to it previously so reference it access it there will be a point that you've been presented with information because life's a journey of experiences of learning of knowledge and what nuggets you've been given previously you may have stored away in that old grey matter of yours for future reference which is what Gareth had done this morning and it was like oh yes that's really interesting yeah I need to be mindful of that because you know if we just carry on doing things without any given thought we don't get anywhere either we have to be aware of our thoughts words and actions because without that's another podcast because we aren't we aren't our behavior we can change at any given time you know and I've learned so much through being curious particularly over the last 17 years post-divorce so much of it has been expanding what was already within to be brutally honest sort of picking up a book that resonated and being curious about it reading and going oh oh that's interesting you know I've always thought this or felt that I didn't realize other people felt this way or that way at all either so yeah get that curious head on today pick up a book read it I'm at the moment I'm reading mythos by Stephen Fry and that's really interesting because it gives you the Greek myths and actually where language so much language today started which is really really interesting sort of in the Greek language I hope you've enjoyed my rambles my brain thoughts and I hope you're going to apply some curiosity to your life today and see where it takes you see what explore get excited yeah I get excited all the time so anyway over now have a great day and until next time lots of love please do rate review share take care lots of love and that's over me over now bye bye
