A holiday is very simple,
It simply means I am and I know that I am.
In the midst of any appearance,
Of the body,
Of the mind,
Of the sensory object,
I can know that I am,
And that's what a holiday is.
It may seem very simple,
And it is,
Of course,
But its profound nature is revealed more and more as you live this recognition.
So let's begin.
Just for a moment,
I try to keep it easy,
No pressure,
No force,
No holding on to anything.
Just for a moment,
Relax the focus of attention,
Allow attention to be blown wide open here and now.
Maybe quickly thoughts will come in,
Or a sensory object,
Or a sensation,
Something that attracts your attention,
Allures you,
No problem.
When you notice that happens,
Just again turn around and notice yourself,
I am,
Here and now,
Blown wide open.
And again,
As I say,
There's no pressure,
It's for a moment.
Appearances will make their momentary display,
That's totally fine.
In the noticing itself,
That attention has gone to any particular object,
In the noticing itself,
A holiday has already happened.
So have a holiday,
I know that I am,
Here and now.
So let's notice a few things in this simple recognition.
One thing we notice is aware,
Aware is.
Not aware of anything in particular,
Simply aware itself,
Notice.
Everything is equal within aware.
By that I mean,
We notice that when attention isn't exclusively focused on any particular object,
But is instead blown wide open,
Then everything is included equally in aware.
Aware is not something to do,
It's who I am,
Essentially,
I am aware.
Just be that,
Simply be aware.
Another thing we notice is that there is no past and there is no future,
Here.
Why is there no past and why is there no future here?
Because both of those are nothing but thought.
And in this moment,
For a moment,
When there is no thought,
There is also no time.
Simply here,
Simply now.
In this blown wide open aware,
My essential nature,
My essential being,
My timeless being,
There's no name,
No form,
No color,
No texture,
No gender,
No history,
No nationality,
No political affiliation,
No religious affiliation,
No opinions,
No preferences,
No likes and no dislikes.
There simply is pure being,
Knowing,
And I am that.
And if that's true here,
And if you recognize that that's true there,
With you,
Then you will see,
In this,
We are the same.
Separation and division only happen in the mind.
It's the identification of this attention with a so-called self that creates a separation and a division,
That creates two.
But in this pure knowing being,
There is not two,
There is only I.
No name,
No form,
No other attributes.
And with no attributes,
There can be no differences.
And so,
If you recognize this for yourself,
Then you recognize also that it must be true here as well.
And if so,
Then you know,
This is where we meet.
Nice to meet you.
