It's all spiritual.
So I wanted to use this track to speak to a common teaching that is shared by many spiritual teachers,
And it's this concept of the illusion or the physical or material world.
And I know for myself,
When I first started to look in the direction of self-inquiry and self-awareness,
This particular concept was one that was really,
Really confusing,
Because it felt a little bit like I needed to deny the experience that I was having.
This is not real.
The sensory world that you're experiencing,
What I see with my eyes,
What I touch with my hands,
This doesn't actually exist.
This is the physical or the material,
And it's an illusion.
And it's kind of hard to sit and reconcile that with the experience that I'm having,
Because I can feel my knee bumping up against the table that I'm sitting at.
And I know for a fact that the human beings that I created that are my children,
I touch them and tuck them into bed every single night,
So I know that they're real.
So to be pointed to this idea of an illusion,
That it's not real,
Was very disruptive.
So I want to point to that misunderstanding,
Because it's not the physical reality that we're experiencing,
That's the illusion.
That's not it.
The illusion is the thought of separation.
It's the idea that there is such a thing as a physical world and a spiritual world.
To put it quite simply,
It's the idea that there is a place where God is not.
That's simply not possible.
And so as we've compartmentalized reality,
And as we've put God into a certain position in society,
The understanding of the divine nature of our spirituality,
And even deeper into religious belief and dogma,
That God is found in a temple or a church on certain days of the week,
And that we're allowed to go and pray and worship on those days,
And that the other days of the week,
We're pretty much left to our own devices,
And we're supposed to,
You know,
Flounder about this world,
Doing our best on our own,
Making mistakes and picking ourselves up when we fall down,
And just having the experience that it is to be human on our own,
That we are alone here,
That we are separate from that which created us.
That is the illusion,
Because it's simply not true.
However it is you define it,
That which created you is not separate from you.
You were created by love.
You were created for love.
And the source of your creation is present in you,
And with you,
In every breath,
And every step,
And every thought,
In every action,
And in every single moment of consciousness.
The illusion is the belief that that is not true.
There is such a powerful experience of reality that gets created when we dissolve the thought of separation,
That we are separate from that which created us,
And instead live into the understanding that the joy,
The expression of aliveness,
That truly the purpose and function of the human experience is to be at one with our creator,
And experience life from there.
