Welcome to this guided relaxation.

Take a slow steady breath in and a slow soft easy breath out.

Do that once more,

Letting each breath last just a little longer than the one before.

Allowing your whole body to settle,

To loosen,

To arrive.

Now in your mind's eye,

Imagine you're standing in front of a simple wooden gate.

On the other side is a rose garden.

A sanctuary waiting just for you.

The sky above is a deep endless blue.

And even from where you stand,

The scent of roses is already reaching you.

Warm and comforting,

Wrapping around you like a gentle embrace.

When you're ready,

Open the gate with ease and step inside.

Feel that wave of love moving toward you,

Welcoming you.

Feel the warmth in the air,

The soft rays of light swirling around your skin,

Around your whole being.

Take a moment to look around.

Roses are blooming in every colour that you can imagine.

Each one is whispering to you words of peace,

Of adoration,

Softness.

Now find a place on the warm grass.

Sit or lie down and let your gaze drift up towards the sky,

Where you see the early stars beginning to appear.

Roses frame your vision,

Petals brushing your skin,

As though the garden is greeting you.

This place is magical.

Here anything is possible.

And every feeling has space to be held.

The air is balmy and full of quiet magic.

And as the sun lowers,

The sky deepens to an even richer shade of pink.

And you can almost feel the flowers around you opening,

Blooming just for this moment.

Just as the flowers are blooming,

So is your body and your baby inside you.

You connect with your baby,

You speak to them and you can clearly hear them back talking to you.

Your baby is reassuring you that they will be born when they're ready.

You don't need to worry about anything.

Your baby is telling you they feel a strong connection to your body.

They believe you and they are one.

There's nothing you need to do but relax.

And as you lay there listening to your baby,

You notice your heart center gently awakening,

Like it's stretching after a long restful nap.

It rises to meet the energy that's all around you without any effort,

Without any force.

And you feel the garden softening you,

Easing any tension,

Soothing any fears that you may have about your upcoming birth.

Gently,

Gently encouraging you to enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy.

The roses are a balm to any pain,

Worry or fear.

And now you can feel your heart responding,

Pouring out its gentle loving energy,

Mixing and swirling with the magic of the roses.

You don't have to make anything happen.

Your heart knows exactly what it wants and your body and your baby know exactly what to do.

This is your sanctuary.

In any moment in the future where you may feel stressed or worried,

You can always come back to this moment.

It's safe to be here.

Rest here for a while.

Breathe in the stillness,

The fragrance,

The magic.

Allow yourself to simply be and connect with your baby.

I'll leave you in silence for a moment or two so you can fully absorb this harmony and balance.

Now,

When you're ready,

Begin to change your attention to return to the room that you're physically in.

You may need to wiggle your fingers and your toes to bring yourself back to the present moment.

Notice any sounds that are around you.

Notice how you feel in this moment.

And then when you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

Take a deep grounding breath.

And look around,

Allowing yourself to settle fully back into the present moment,

Knowing that you can return to your safe space at any time.
