This is a basic guided relaxation for you,
To take a few moments for yourself on those days where everything feels a little bit tougher,
Just to help you relax and bring you back to yourself.
So take a moment to settle yourself and get comfortable.
If you need to wriggle,
Know that it's okay to do this to get into the best position for you to be able to relax.
Take some time to get into that position now,
And just as soon as you're ready,
Close your eyes if you feel able to do so,
Or lower and soften your gaze.
There's no need for you to do anything else right now.
This time is for you.
There's nobody asking anything of you,
No expectations.
This time is just for you.
So begin by listening to your breathing.
Allow the natural rise and fall of your chest to bring that vital air into your lungs.
Don't try to force anything,
Just observe it as it rises and falls,
Rises and falls.
Now if you can,
Just start to extend those natural breaths.
Can you breathe a little deeper each time?
Can you extend your out-breath?
And how does that feel to bring a little more fresh air in,
And to release a little more of the staleness out?
With each in-breath,
Think about drawing your energy back to you from whatever events or projects you've been focusing on.
That's your energy.
With each out-breath,
Think about releasing any energy that doesn't belong to you,
And send it back to where it does belong.
You don't need it right now.
By drawing your energy back to you,
And releasing any that doesn't belong,
You are helping to bring your body,
Mind and soul back into balance,
Back to your equilibrium.
Imagine perfectly balanced scales,
And think about how things begin to flow once things are in balance,
When there's harmony.
Whenever you find anything's tough,
When the everyday stresses build up and take over your mind,
Come back to this moment.
Focus on your breathing.
Remember to draw your energy back from wherever you've left it in the world,
And release that energy that doesn't belong to you,
Because it serves no purpose.
Remember who you really are inside.
Forgetting about the stresses and strains of the day,
And coming back to yourself.
And now,
When you're ready,
Bring yourself back to the present moment,
And enjoy the rest of your day.
