Welcome to your guided relaxation,
Connecting you with your inner joy.
I invite you to get comfortable wherever you are.
Feel where your body comes into contact with the surface of whatever is holding you,
Whether that's a bed,
A chair or a yoga mat and just allow yourself to let go.
Now turn your attention to your breathing.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
Feel your chest rise with each inhale and fall with each exhale.
Take a few moments to observe that natural rhythm.
Remind yourself that you don't need to do anything to make that happen.
Your body does it all by itself.
Send gratitude to your body for the amazing job it's doing.
Now let's see if we can bring more to that natural rhythm.
And on your next in-breath,
Can you make that inhale last a little longer?
Can you make the out-breath extend a little further?
With each inhale,
Can you pull back any energy that you've sent out into the world?
Any energy that belongs with you and can return to you?
With each exhale,
Can you send back any energy that doesn't belong to you?
Anything you're holding on to,
Anything you've carried with you that you don't need right now.
Let it return to where it is needed.
Who would you be if all the obstacles were removed?
These may be real or imagined obstacles.
Perhaps you yourself are the obstacle.
Do you need to move out of your own way?
What sort of person could you become if you weren't afraid of being judged?
If you didn't concern yourself with what other people thought of you?
Remember that what others think of you is none of your business.
How would you feel if you were living your life in alignment with your beliefs and desires?
If you removed the shuds and reconnected with what truly lights you up?
Do you know what brings you joy in all aspects of life or have you forgotten?
Many people resign themselves to being miserable in their job,
In their career choices.
Is that you?
Is that you?
How many hours a day do you spend doing something you don't find pleasure in or worse hate doing?
Spend some time playing around with choices and ask yourself if you could choose any job in the world right now,
What would it be?
Think about the reasons why you're drawn to that role and imagine yourself there.
Invite the universe to open up opportunities for you to have more fun at work.
We're going to end this guided relaxation soon and when we do I want you to take out your journal or notebook or even a big piece of paper and write down everything that brings you joy.
That's right,
Every single thing that brings you joy.
It may be things that feature highly in your life or you may spend no time on them at all.
Write down everything that comes to mind about how you can welcome more joy into your life whether they're big or small things.
So now I'm going to count you back from five to one and when we reach one you'll feel energised and inspired,
Ready to embrace that inner joy.
Five.
Start to become aware of the sounds in the room around you.
Four.
Feel your body in contact with your seat and your feet on the floor.
Three.
Start to invite some movement back into your body,
Perhaps wiggling your fingers and your toes.
Two.
Take some energising deep breaths in and out.
One.
Gently and slowly open your eyes and have a good look around you.
Now I invite you to take out your journal or notebook or that large piece of paper and write down all of your thoughts about how to nurture your inner joy.
