You've now reached the paradise of the sunken garden.
With its beauty,
Comfort and stillness all here for you now.
Take in the green and luscious surroundings.
Let them soothe you.
And know that this is a place that you can visit anytime you feel like you need to.
Anytime you feel like you need peace and calmness in your life.
And now as you reflect on the past few weeks and months of your life.
And the miraculous journey of motherhood that you've been on.
Recognize that this time of bonding and getting to know your baby has been happening ever since you could first imagine them.
Before your baby was even born,
The bonding process began.
Every moment you spoke,
Sung or laughed.
Either to them or in response to the world around you.
Your baby could hear and recognize your voice.
And this happened from around 16 weeks of life in your safe and nurturing womb.
Imagine now a moment or time when he did just that.
When you spoke or sung to them.
And you were aware that your baby could hear everything you were saying.
They're getting used to your voice.
And knowing that your voice was a sign of being safe and secure.
It was crucially significant to their development in utero.
And then being able to talk when the right time comes.
Know now the simple truth that your voice is one of the marvelous ways in which you're bonded to your baby.
Without it,
You wouldn't be able to speak.
Without you having to do or be.
It just is.
Reflecting on these early days of motherhood.
Your baby responding to your voice.
Your love.
Your care.
Your attention.
And receiving their pure and beautiful smile as they look up at you.
How warm.
How grateful.
How fulfilling that this is to experience.
A simple smile is another sign of your deep and enduring bond.
Of the way your baby interacts and recognizes you as their safe haven.
Their beacon of love.
And their attentive,
Nurturing mother.
This comes naturally without any need for you to be a certain way or do a certain thing.
You trust this knowledge and hold the certainty that you are the perfect mother for your newborn baby.
Early motherhood is a chance to slow down the pace of life.
To take rests.
Nap.
And enjoy quality bonding time with your tiny loved one.
Now imagine a precious bonding moment with your baby.
This may already have happened.
Or it's a moment you wish to happen in the future.
You're resting on your bed or comfortable sofa or chair.
Cushioned by comfortable bedding,
Pillows or throws.
And you're holding your baby in your arms.
You may have just fed them.
You may be in the middle of feeding them.
And you feel the warmth.
The warmth between you of love,
Closeness and harmony.
You feel fulfilled in this moment.
There is nowhere else you would rather be.
No one else you'd rather be with.
And you feel the precious intimacy and beauty of these moments.
And you feel the warmth.
And you feel the precious intimacy and beauty of these moments.
As you cradle and comfort your baby in a loving and kind in kindly way.
Your baby may be looking up at you.
Focusing on feeding or gently dozing in your arms.
And you recognize this moment as one of purity.
As one of an initiation into your motherhood journey.
And you know you're doing a perfectly sound and secure job of mothering your tiny little bundle.
This is your mothering instinct at work.
And this is a moment that only you and your little one can share.
It's a precious,
Perfect moment.
And you know it's so important to your bonding experience.
And now these little moments begin to occur in your life more and more.
In these moments you're immersed in the intensely close and pure experience of bonding and caring for your baby.
And you recognize that your bond with your baby is growing each and every day.
You're a mother who is bonded to their baby in a natural and instinctive way.
You feel more and more confident in your ability as a mother as these bonding moments increase.
In the time you spend together.
And you feel more and more peaceful in your role as a new mother.
The best and most natural mother there could ever be to this beautiful baby of yours.
The recognition of this knowing simply fills your heart with love.
Enjoy and appreciate this inner knowing.
And also the recognition that you're more than enough for your baby and the bonded relationship that you share.
You are filled up with love and can provide the optimum level of care for your baby's well-being.
You are a mother who is a mother to her baby.
You are the most perfect mother for your baby just by being you.
You are what your baby needs.
