Hello,
My name is Rick Freeman.
I wanna talk about Ayurveda and how consciousness is primary in Ayurvedic medicine and the science of Ayurveda.
And that means we come out of the rabbit hole.
If you ever heard the saying,
Life goes into the rabbit hole.
If you look at going into the rabbit hole,
We are a physical body,
Then organs,
Then tissues,
Then cells,
And then electrons that circle around neutrons.
That's looking down into the rabbit hole.
Coming out of the rabbit hole is consciousness is primary.
So when there was once nothing is how the Ayurvedic sages looked at it.
There was no creation at all.
There was just this realm with these two qualities.
Purusha,
Pure being and prakrti,
Creative potential.
And Purusha was just so happy.
He had no intention of going anywhere else.
Pure being had no thought of leaving.
And if that's all there was,
We wouldn't be here now.
So fortunately for us,
There was prakrti,
Creative potential.
Creative potential went out.
And what would you think if there was nothing,
No creation,
If consciousness went out to find something?
You would find awareness,
Awareness.
Now that's the state that is said that we go into when we go into a meditation.
And then comes the self and the ego and reality itself,
The sensory organs,
And then the five qualities,
The five elements.
But way before that,
We're just awareness.
So as our life gets so frenzied and crazy,
We get so much anxiety,
We have to realize that we come from awareness.
Whether you're standing in a grocery store line,
Whether you're sitting in a chair and trying to find some peace and tranquility.
We can always go back to where we come from,
That pure being,
That consciousness.
And it might just be a few moments and then you can go back to living.
So let's get comfortable and close your eyes.
Let's be still and know pieces within.
Be still and know pieces within.
Be still and know peace.
Be still and know.
Be.
Be.
Let's just be.
Keep a relaxed look on your face.
Keep your breath flowing nice and easy.
And we're gonna go into a mantra using the words,
So hum,
So hum.
So repeat that quietly in your head,
The words,
So hum.
You might find it get fast.
You might find it get really slow.
Just repeat the words,
So hum.
Repeat the words,
So hum.
When you find that your mind wanders to a thought,
Sound or sensation,
And it will,
That's okay,
Just gently bring your attention back to your mantra of so hum.
Remember developing,
Ch success,
Increasingly receiving services.
Silently say the words to yourself,
I am free to be me.
I am open to all possibilities and views or perspectives.
I am strong.
I am healthy.
When I think I am,
I think I create.
Keeping your eyes closed,
Just sit there and stay relaxed.
For the next minute,
There's nowhere to go,
No place to be.
Just be.
Now,
Take a deep breath,
Stretch your arms up and relax.
And when you're ready,
Open up your eyes.
