With the breath as your anchor, connect back to the present moment and a more mindful way of being. As Thich Nhat Hanh so eloquently says, "The breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness." This 10-minute meditation creates space for you to explore what is, while simultaneously supporting the nervous system and welcoming to a more relaxed, calm, and grounded state.

Welcome.

This mindfulness of breath meditation is designed to help you connect back to your breath,

Your body,

And your life.

To begin,

Find a comfortable place to sit,

With a tall spine,

Gently resting your eyes,

Or if it feels better,

Lowering your gaze a few feet in front of you,

And then placing your palms either face up or face down on your legs.

If you're welcoming in more energy,

Guidance,

And wisdom today,

I invite you to place your hands or your palms facing upward,

And if you wish to connect within and ground down,

Placing your palms face down,

And gently bringing your awareness to the natural flow of your breath,

Following the air as it flows through the nostrils,

And then down into the lungs,

Delivering fresh oxygen and energy and life force to every cell of your body,

Noticing the moment of suspension,

The sacred pause between the inhale and the exhale,

And before the cleansing breath releases that,

That the body no longer needs to hold.

Noticing the breath again,

This time noticing the temperature,

Noticing the color,

The pace,

And even noticing where the breath falls in the body.

And as you follow the breath,

If the mind begins to wander,

As it will,

Or if you begin to notice sensations in the body,

Or find yourself thinking about the past or something in the future,

The practice is to bring your attention back to the breath over and over again,

Back to the breath,

Back to the breath.

Thich Nhat Hanh says the breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness.

Noticing the breath as a bridge between our physical existence and our conscious experience.

We can use mindful breathing as a tool to enhance our connection with the present moment.

We can use the breath as a tool to enhance our connection to life.

How you are as you breathe is how you are as you move through your day.

Ever so softly,

Deepening the breath,

Inhaling fully,

And then as you exhale,

Letting go and releasing anything that is no longer yours to hold.

Once again,

Inhale,

And as you exhale,

Letting go of anything that is no longer yours to hold.

Beautiful.

Breathing back into the body,

Gently moving your hands,

Rolling your shoulders back if that feels good,

And allowing your eyes to open with a blink,

Blink,

Blink.

Thank you for being here today and for taking a moment,

Not only for yourself,

But for all those around you.

Have a beautiful day.
