Hello and welcome to this meditation about flexible resilience.
I am Rashid Zahidi,
Creator and author of the Imogym Journal,
Which is a workbook for emotional awareness and balancing the wheel of life.
This meditation is about being strong without being stubborn,
With the purpose of cultivating adaptive strength,
Emotional flexibility and wise persistence.
Find a comfortable position seated or laying down.
Allow your spine to be gently upright but not rigid.
Let your body reflect the quality you are cultivating,
Relaxed,
Alert and flexible.
Gently close your eyes.
Begin by bringing your attention to your breath.
Inhale slowly through the nose and exhale gently through the mouth.
Again,
Inhale,
Steady and calm.
Exhale,
Releasing tension.
Let your breathing find its natural rhythm.
With each breath out,
Soften your shoulders,
Soften your jaw,
Soften your forehead.
There is nothing you need to fix right now,
Nothing you need to prove.
You are allowed to simply be.
Now bring to mind an area of your life where you have been,
Quote,
Staying strong.
It might be a relationship,
Maybe a career path,
Maybe a personal habit or a long-term goal or a challenge you have been enduring again and again.
Notice what comes up.
Do not judge it,
Just observe.
Ask yourself gently,
Where am I being resilient and where might I be resisting?
Let the question settle.
Imagine now that this situation is like standing in a strong wind.
Some people try to fight the wind.
They tense,
They push,
They exhaust themselves.
Others learn to adjust their posture.
They lean slightly,
They flow with the movement.
They stay upright with less effort.
Visualize yourself in this wind.
Notice how your body responds.
Are you rigid?
Are you strained?
Are you gripping tightly?
Or can you soften and still remain standing?
With each exhale,
Imagine releasing unnecessary tension.
Breathing out,
Let go of control.
Breathing out,
Let go of fear.
Breathing out,
Let go of pride.
Now silently repeat in your mind,
I am strong enough to adapt.
I am wise enough to adjust.
I am secure enough to change.
Let each phrase sink in and repeat slowly.
I am strong enough to adapt.
I am wise enough to adjust.
I am secure enough to change.
Bring your awareness to your heart.
Imagine a gentle warmth there.
A steady,
Calm light.
This is your resilient core.
It does not disappear when you change direction.
It does not weaken when you let go.
It remains steady through growth.
From this place,
Ask yourself,
What is this season of my life asking of me now?
Not what it demanded in the past.
Not what others expect.
But what it is asking now.
Listen quietly.
You may receive words.
You may receive images.
You may receive feelings,
Or simply a sense of knowing.
Trust what arises.
Now imagine yourself moving forward six months from today.
You have chosen flexibility.
You have chosen learning.
You have chosen intelligent persistence.
See yourself calmer,
Clearer,
More aligned.
Notice how it feels in your body.
Notice your energy,
Your confidence,
Your peace.
Let this image imprint itself in you.
Silently affirm,
I release what no longer serves my growth.
I honor my past without being trapped by it.
I move forward with steady,
Flexible strength.
And repeat,
I release what no longer serves my growth.
I honor my past without being trapped by it.
I move forward with steady,
Flexible strength.
Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath.
Inhale fully.
Exhale slowly.
Inhale fully.
Exhale slowly.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Feel your body grounded.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Carry this flexible resilience with you today and going forward.
Let strength and softness walk together.
Thank you.
