This short guided reset is for moments when the mind feels busy, repetitive, or fatigued by too much thinking. It isn’t a technique, strategy, or problem-solving exercise. Nothing needs to be worked out or improved. Instead, this is a brief pause — a chance to let mental effort soften and allow the body to take some of the weight. Thoughts may still be present, but you’re not required to follow them or reach clarity. This session can be used whenever overthinking feels tiring or circular, or when decision-making feels heavy. You may listen sitting, resting, or lying down. There’s nothing to complete and nowhere to arrive. You’re welcome to stop after listening — or continue with your day as it is.

Transcript

Many of us know the feeling of getting caught in loops of overthinking.

The same thoughts circling.

The same decisions replaying.

If that's happening for you right now,

Notice that you're aware of it.

That awareness can be enough to begin a gentle reset.

Overthinking can be tiring,

Especially when the effort has become habitual rather than necessary.

So,

For the next few minutes,

Nothing needs to be solved or worked out.

This is not a strategy,

It's a pause.

An experience we'll move through together.

So,

Let's begin by letting the body take some of the weight.

Wherever you are,

Allow yourself to arrive just as you are.

You don't need to adjust your posture or find a better position.

Simply notice where your body is supported.

The floor,

The chair or the surface beneath you.

Let your weight drop into that support without effort.

If your eyes are open,

You might soften your gaze.

If they're closed,

Let them rest.

Breathing can happen on its own.

There's nothing to manage here.

Thoughts may still be moving.

You don't need to stop them.

If the mind keeps circling the same ideas,

Let those loops stay in the background.

Instead of listening to what the thoughts are saying,

Notice the effort of thinking.

The sense of mental activity.

The pressure or tightness or movement.

You might imagine the thoughts continuing on their own while you rest your attention elsewhere.

Nothing needs your response right now.

If there's a feeling of decision fatigue,

The sense that you've already chosen too much today,

You can let that be acknowledged here.

For now,

Decisions are not required.

You don't need to decide what happens next.

Or what this experience should lead to.

Even small internal checklists can be allowed to pause.

Rest is not avoidance.

It's simply a break from constant choosing.

Bring your attention back to something simple in the body.

Perhaps the feeling of contact where you're supported.

Or the natural rhythm of breathing.

Let that be enough.

You don't need clarity.

You don't need resolution.

You're welcome to stop here.

Or continue with your day exactly as it is.

Clarity can come later.

Reset can happen now.
