This meditation begins with gentle grounding and breath awareness, then guides you into a direct exploration of presence beyond the concepts of “here” and “now.” Through self-inquiry and stillness, you are invited to rest as awareness itself—beyond thought, identity, and effort. A practice of surrender, self-abidance, and simple being, this meditation supports deep peace, spaciousness, and the recognition of what you truly are.

Hello and welcome to this guided meditation beyond the here and now.

Let's begin by finding a comfortable position,

Allowing your body to be supported by your chair,

The floor,

The earth beneath you.

Go ahead and just close your eyes or take it to a soft focus,

Whichever feels most comfortable.

Just bringing your attention to your breath.

No need to change it.

Simply noticing the inhale and the exhale.

Just feeling the breath moving in through the nose and flowing back out.

And with each exhale,

Allow the body to soften.

Let your shoulders drop.

Allow your jaw to relax.

Just let your belly be at ease.

Feel the points of contact between your body and what supports you.

Just sense gravity holding you.

Nothing to do,

Nothing to achieve.

Just take a slow,

Deeper breath in and a long,

Gentle breath out.

Just allow your awareness to settle into your body and then gently widen as if your attention is becoming more spacious and more open.

Now,

Here and now,

Just notice this moment and ask yourself,

Here and now,

Where am I?

You may notice sensations,

Thoughts,

Sounds,

Feelings,

And then notice something subtler.

Oh,

I am not here.

I am nowhere to be found.

I am beyond this so-called here-ness.

Just pause for a moment and reflect.

Tell me,

Is there a here in deep sleep?

In deep sleep,

There is rest,

But no location.

The here is a creation of the mind.

And now,

Here and now,

I am not now.

Tell me,

Is there a now in deep sleep?

There is no clock,

No moment,

No reference point.

The now is also a creation of the mind.

So just rest gently on this noticing.

I am not now.

I am not here.

Beyond concepts,

Beyond experiences,

Beyond all of these things,

The here and the now can be useful.

So let them be doorways rather than destinations.

Now,

Feel your presence.

Not your thoughts about presence,

But the simple sense of being.

Here and now,

Feel your sense of existence.

Here and now,

Look for the looker.

Here and now,

Know the knower.

Here and now,

Seek the seeker.

Here and now,

See the seer.

Here and now,

Observe the observer.

Just notice what happens when you look for what is looking.

Here and now,

Be aware of existing.

Here and now,

Be aware of being conscious.

And here and now,

Feel the simple,

Undeniable sense of I am.

Do not define it.

Do not describe it.

Just feel it.

Here and now,

Stay as I am.

Here and now,

Love the I am.

Not emotionally,

But by allowing it completely.

Here and now,

Stay at the source of your I.

Before the story,

Before the name,

Before the identity.

Here and now,

Stay as awareness.

And gently,

Love your awareness.

Just allow the background and the foreground to soften.

Allowing subject and object to blur.

Now,

Melt the heart of awareness itself.

No edges,

No center.

And now,

Simply let go.

Here and now,

Stay in that emptiness.

Here and now,

Stay in that stillness.

Here and now,

Stay in that joy.

Here and now,

Stay in that silence.

Here and now,

Stay in that bliss.

Stay in that voidness.

Stay in that nothingness.

Stay in that peace.

Here and now,

Stay as that.

Just notice all this appears in the realm of space and time.

The illusion is in space and time.

The mind is in space and time.

And so the illusion must be undone by walking an illusory path.

What is a matter of the self is perfect,

Everlasting,

Or ever attained.

Those are just concepts until the illusion of being someone dissolves.

The illusory illusion is slain by the illusory sword of self-abidance.

So now,

Be nothing.

Being nothing is freedom.

Being nothing is true joy.

Be nothing.

It does not matter if it does not make sense.

Making sense is the mind.

And not making sense is also the mind.

Being beyond the need to make sense,

And beyond the fear of not making sense,

Is where you rest.

So just trust.

Just surrender.

Just abide in yourself.

Just be self-aware.

Finally,

Just be.

Just rest here for a moment.

Allow gentle movement back into the body.

The breath.

The sensations.

And when it feels right,

Softly open your eyes,

Bringing this quiet knowing with you.
