In this talk in meditation we're going to explore the dynamic relationship of the Tibetan Buddhist elements within your psychological world as well as your outer world.

We'll do a meditation where we allow the energy to flow and heal within your chakras where the elements abide.

I'm coming specifically from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition where the elements are earth,

Air,

Water,

Fire and space and these five elements inhabit the root,

Sacral,

Heart,

Throat and crown chakras.

I know I may differ slightly from other traditions but I don't want us to get stuck in the details.

What's actually much more important than the visualization is your connection to your body and the felt experience within you.

If you'd like to know more about each element,

How it feels within your psychological world,

You can have a look at my course the elements and chakras within you brought to life with sound where we go more deeply into the aliveness of each element within you.

You are of course welcome to give this creative meditation a try and see how it resonates with you and enjoy it.

The elements have a very natural dynamic play to them.

It's constantly evolving,

Changing and moving.

Although we may be drawn to specific ones at specific times in our life or feel the presence of certain energies really alive within us compared to others,

There's nothing solid and enduring in any of the elements.

It's a very dynamic moving play between them and this evolves and changes all the time as we do as human beings evolve and change at every moment.

But at the same time there seems to be a very natural propensity of certain elements within each of us.

For example I'm a very fire and air person.

I have a fire that's felt in the form of inspiration,

Enthusiasm and passion and when this fire element inspiration sparks and gets going the air element seems to come in and the air mixing with the fire can seem to really ignite into flames of inspiration.

I can sometimes feel too much.

I have learned that when my air and fire get going and it feels too much I can take some time to ground myself,

Adding the earth energy to my being and helping that air and fire to come to some sort of steadiness and order.

I found it really transformational to get to know how these elements live within my being.

It's really helped me to get to know myself and what I may need in times of stress.

It can also help to develop your self-compassion and self-love because you start to understand that everything within you is truly just a process of moving energy and this can help you to detach yourself from blame and judgment and start to develop feelings of self-compassion and self-understanding.

This meditation is going to be quite a creative and colorful meditation.

After first relaxing,

Grounding,

Connecting to our body we will one by one connect to each element within our chakras and allow space,

Opening and healing to begin.

We will end up with a radiant and colorful column of light through our central channel healing and balancing each chakra.

To add a bit of creativity to it,

As we connect to each chakra and allow space and healing there,

I will gently play the crystal singing bowl associated with that chakra.

This can help you to connect to the chakra and allow a softening,

A release and letting go.

Don't worry if you don't have an amazing or perfect visualization.

It really is more about the connection to the presence of the feeling within you,

Within your body and that's allowing and letting go.

So at any point if you feel yourself trying too hard,

Remember to hold your space with a sense of love,

A sense of compassion and allow yourself to relax into the experience and enjoy it.

So before we start,

Find yourself somewhere comfortable to be.

On a meditation cushion,

On a chair or lying down if you need to.

The important thing is that you're comfortable and your body can relax.

It's good to sit with your back straight and tall with fresh air coming in your lungs,

But don't be too rigid.

Allow a sense of movement within you.

Let's start by bringing awareness to your breath.

Awareness of your breath within your body.

Become aware of the feelings and sensations of your lungs,

Ribs and abdomen,

Rising and falling with each breath.

And as you relax there,

Really try to be inquisitive of the feelings and the sensations with each in-breath and each out-breath.

Take part of your awareness now into the ground of your being,

To the feelings and sensations of the ground or the cushion pushing up from below you and supporting you.

The feelings and sensations of the weight of your legs.

And really allow your whole body to deeply relax into that sense of ground that's supporting you and holding you.

At any point,

If you get distracted,

Don't worry about it.

There's no need to judge yourself.

There's no need to push it away or create stories around it.

Just allow the distraction to arise and then move through and evaporate on its own as it will.

Allow it to be and gently bring your awareness back to your breath and back into feelings and sensations within your body.

And then relax back down into your ground again.

As you relax into that sense of ground,

Bring your awareness up into the trunk of your body and notice any feelings and sensations within your trunk.

Allow your awareness to expand to the rest of your body.

Back down into your legs,

Out to your arms,

Your neck,

Your head,

Until you become aware of feelings and sensations within your whole body as you relax.

Letting go.

Allowing space and allowing your awareness within to open to a sense of spaciousness.

As you rest within that space,

Bring your awareness to your root chakra.

Your root chakra can be felt somewhere at the root of your torso,

At the base of your spine,

Just in front of the bottom of your coccyx.

It doesn't need to be the exact spot.

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.

As you relax,

You become aware of a small radiant drop of golden yellow light within your root chakra.

Allow that drop of light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of groundedness,

Steadiness and safety.

Then allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving you filled with a sense of groundedness,

Safety and enrichment within your body.

A sense of being held and protected.

And you're left with this radiant drop of golden yellow light,

Resting and radiating in your root chakra.

As you rest within spaciousness in your body,

Bring your awareness now to your sacral chakra.

It can be felt somewhere just below your belly button,

Just in front of your spine.

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.

As you relax,

You become aware of a small radiant drop of green light within your sacral chakra.

Allow that drop of light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of confidence and intention.

A feeling that you can do anything that you want to do.

Then allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving you with a sense of feeling inspired,

Motivated and adaptable.

Feeling that you can accomplish whatever it is you need to do.

And you're left with a radiant pearl of green light,

Resting and radiating in your sacral chakra.

Bring your awareness to your heart chakra.

It can be felt in the region of your heart.

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings and sensations there.

You become aware of a small radiant drop of deep blue light within your heart chakra.

Allow that drop of deep blue light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of acceptance,

Of joy and contentment.

And a feeling of confidence in your own inner power.

Allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving you with a sense of joy and flowing love within your body.

You're left with a radiant drop of blue light,

Resting and radiating within your heart chakra.

As you rest within the space in your body,

Bring your awareness to your throat chakra.

The throat chakra can be felt somewhere at the base of your neck,

Just in front of your spine.

It doesn't need to be the exact place.

Just bring your awareness to that area and notice any feelings or sensations there.

As you relax,

You become aware of a small radiant drop of rich red light within your throat chakra.

Allow that drop of red light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of inspiration and enthusiasm.

Then allow that light to gently,

Softly evaporate,

Leaving your body filled with a sense of joy and inspiration.

You're left with a radiant pearl of red light,

Resting and radiating in your throat chakra,

As a connection to the fire element within you.

As you rest within your space,

Bring your awareness now to your crown chakra.

Your crown chakra can be felt at the very top of your head,

The crown of your head,

And notice any feelings or sensations there.

You become aware of a small radiant pearlescent drop of white light within your crown chakra.

Allow that drop of light to radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of allowing,

Letting go.

Feelings of spaciousness,

Clarity.

Then allow that light to gently and softly evaporate,

Leaving your body filled with feelings of allowing,

Of clarity and love.

You're left with that radiant drop of white light,

Resting and radiating in your crown chakra.

As you rest in your body,

Into the ground supporting you,

Allowing space,

Become aware of the column of radiant,

Colorful light drops within your energy channel.

Your golden yellow root chakra,

Radiant green sacral chakra,

Your deep blue heart chakra,

Your rich radiant red throat chakra,

And your pearlescent bright white crown chakra.

They radiate out,

Filling your body with feelings of groundedness,

Inspiration,

Space,

And inner confidence.

As the radiating light softly evaporates,

They leave their essence in the form of a drop of light within each chakra.

Remember,

You have all of these elements,

With their energies and feelings within you,

At all times.

So as we finish this meditation,

And you go out into your day,

Into the world,

Remember you have everything you need already within you.

You just need to connect to it and allow space for it to shine.
