Welcome to this calming and grounding practice of Yoga Nidra.

Lie down in a comfortable position,

Finding your back on the floor and supporting your knees and head if you need to.

Allow the legs to flop out and the palms to turn up towards the sky so that the shoulders can relax down.

Lengthen your head away from your neck and soften your eyelids around your eyes,

Closing your mouth and allowing the lips to touch.

Take a nice deep inhale and as you exhale take a sigh and open the mouth and relax your jaw.

One more deep inhale like that and a big sigh out.

Close the mouth again and be aware of the point where the lips touch.

Say to yourself that you will remain awake and aware throughout this practice of Yoga Nidra.

That you shall listen to my voice,

Acknowledging the words without any analytical thought.

And if your mind wanders you will come back to the words,

Following them throughout the practice.

Do not worry if you fall asleep or drift in and out,

The practice will be serving you in the best way you need.

As you settle your body down,

Feel it release to the floor,

Allowing it to touch the ground.

Let it sink heavier and heavier into the ground.

As you feel the body sinking heavy into the ground,

Become aware of the top of your body sinking into your back body.

Sinking you further and further into and down onto your mat.

Feel the weight of your body sinking into your body and into the earth.

And think of a place,

Imaginary or real,

That makes you feel safe.

A place where you're secure and protected,

Where you are free to be you without any worries.

Imagine and feel that you're in that place right now.

Feel all the sensations of safety around you,

Feeling secure and know that this place is available to you at any time.

That you can come back to it throughout your practice,

Should you need to.

And then if you have a sankalpa or personal resolve,

Your statement of what you intend to come true in your life,

Repeat it to yourself in the present tense with the feeling that you're living it right now,

Three times.

Allow the words to bubble up if you do not have one.

Stay with the feeling of the safe space.

We come to the rotation of consciousness,

Taking your mind and awareness through different body parts in rapid succession.

Either visualize or feel the sensation of the body part as it is named.

The whole of your body,

The whole of your body.

Come back to your breath,

Noticing the breath coming in through the nose and tracing down to the navel and exhaling from the navel to the nose.

Inhaling from the nose to the navel and exhaling navel back up to nose.

Follow the breath in and down and you inhale and up and out as you exhale,

Tracing from nose to navel.

Begin to extend that breath down to the feet as you inhale.

And exhaling from your feet as you exhale.

Inhaling nose to feet as you inhale and exhaling feet to nose.

Focus on following the breath,

Nose to the soles of your feet and soles of the feet to the nose.

And as you inhale start to visualise bright white light all around you.

Imagine a time where you've been standing in a brilliant bright white light space,

Where the sun was so bright you could only see the white light around you.

Feel the sensation of bathing in a brilliant bright white light.

Feel the white light embodying the whole of your body,

The sensation of bright light all around you.

Feel your body basking in a brilliant white bright light.

And then start to exhale and draw yourself into a dark place,

A space like a cave or like you've turned off the lights.

Feel darkness through and all around you,

The sensations of darkness throughout the whole of your body.

What does darkness feel like to your body?

Feel the darkness through and all around you.

And then on your next inhale begin to feel that brilliant bright white light again,

Consuming all of your body and around you.

Feel like you're standing in a brilliant bright white light place.

Feel the sensations throughout the whole of your body of being in light.

And on your next exhale begin to come back to the dark space like you've turned the lights off to go to bed.

Allow yourself to look into that darkness.

Feel the darkness in and around you,

The sensations that darkness brings within your body.

And then come back to your body,

Feeling the connection of your body on the ground.

Start to feel its heaviness touching the earth as though you're starting to come alive.

Feel your body discovering its movement as you visualise or feel the shapes within your body as it starts to move.

See your body and feel your body like it's dancing in the moonlight.

Feel the earth under your feet as you move and dance.

As you feel the fluidity and shapes your body makes in a moonlit space.

Notice those sensations of your body as it touches the earth and moves through the air.

Feeling the movement of your body as it makes shapes in space.

See or feel your body moving around in a space of moonlit night.

Notice your rhythms,

The different flow of energy,

Those moments of lightness and heavy,

Of expansion and contraction as your body moves through space making shapes that you feel.

Of comfort,

Of your shape.

Allow your dance to take you into a space that helps you feel free.

Discover shapes and feelings inside your body you could never imagine.

And then come back to your body,

The whole of your body lying on your mat.

Feel the shape of your body lying in Shavasana.

Repeat your sankalpa or personal resolve three times with that same true feeling and intention.

And come back to the sensation of your body on your mat.

Feel the heaviness in contact with the ground.

The shape of your body touching fabrics and the earth.

Being aware of this shape you are in,

Breathe movement into your body beginning to allow the toes and feet to move.

Exploring with each breath larger and larger movements coming back into your body.

In your own time coming to a stretch or a hug of your knees.

And when you're ready rolling onto your side.

Taking at least five cycles of breath before finding your way up to seated and opening your eyes to rejoin your day.

And rejoin your life.

Namaste.

Beautiful & brilliant. After a broken night and pre very important job interview I needed something to drag me out of grogginess and annoyance & into calm energy. This did exactly that. So soothing, so beautiful, so connected.

I really enjoyed this Yoga Nidra. For me personally , I do prefer to have background music /sounds in most of the guided meditations I listen to - however, this is nonetheless a very effective Yoga Nidra! Thank you! 💜💖🙏🏾 ꪀꪖꪑꪖ𝘴𝓽ꫀ 🙏🏽💖💜

Really lovely experience. There was no way I was going to dance on land though, only on water and the sea. It was so much fun. Thank you so much 🙏🏻❤️
