Hello and welcome to this talk.
Today we will explore a couple of aspects of curiosity.
Perhaps your own curiosity has led you to this session.
What we will focus on in the upcoming minutes is understanding the value of curiosity and how you can actively use it to enhance your personal development.
I will ask you some questions and we will also do some affirmations.
But before we start,
We will do a breathing exercise to help you engage well with the topic and let go of any disturbing thoughts.
Find a comfortable position,
Place your feet on the ground,
Put your hands in your lap and close your eyes.
Slowly take a deep breath,
In through your nose and exhale softly through your mouth.
Inhale and exhale.
Feel the air in your body and let go of any negativity as you exhale.
It is okay to feel stress or anxiety,
But right now we will let them go and focus our energy on this moment that we are in and we are about to explore curiosity.
Let's breathe together one more time.
Inhale and exhale.
As you breathe and relax,
Notice how your mind feels more open.
This openness is the foundation of curiosity,
The willingness to explore beyond what is known and familiar.
Now let your breathing normalize itself.
Alright,
So let's get started.
When was the last time you were curious about something?
Think about the last time you did something differently than usual.
It could be taking a different route to work,
Trying new food or learning something new.
Whatever it is for you,
Think about how it felt like.
Did you consciously decide to try something new?
Or did it just happen along the way?
Did you feel excitement?
Did you have concerns?
Where you were left when the situation was over?
People are creatures of habits.
Every single one of us has our own routine and ways to do certain things.
Letting go of this can be scary,
Because it means we are leaving our comfort zone.
Maybe we found the most efficient way to do something and don't want to invest more energy than necessary into a task.
Or maybe we are not sure if we will gain the same outcome if we try a different way.
Recognizing and overcoming this is the first step to become aware of curiosity as a powerful tool for personal development.
If you are not sure what your habits are,
Take the next couple days to reflect each day what you did,
In which way you did it and why you did it that way.
If you already know your habits,
Ask yourself why you built them.
Do they give you an advantage?
Or could there be other ways to handle situations?
What if you did it differently the next time?
What could go wrong?
Not only will you make new experiences and expand your comfort zone,
You will be more open to the unknown and you will be better able to handle uncertainty.
You don't have to be afraid to try out other ways.
Repeat after me.
I embrace uncertainty and I trust my curiosity to lead me to growth.
Let's take a moment to thank yourself for the curiosity you have already aroused,
Which has led you to where you are today.
Repeat after me.
I am grateful for my curiosity and the new experiences it brings.
I am grateful for my curiosity and the new experiences it brings.
Curiosity is the key element of progress.
It sparks creativity and using it will help you figuring out solutions more easily when you have to deal with a problem.
Curiosity not only expands your knowledge but it also enhances your emotional resilience by allowing you to view challenges as opportunities for growth.
Everyone can be curious and it looks different to everyone.
I encourage you to find your own way of living and using curiosity for yourself.
For some it might mean changing their routine.
For others it might mean connecting more with other people and experiencing their perspectives.
If we and if you live curiosity today,
We can create the future.
You create your future but you also create the future of others.
I invite you to try learning and focusing on something new each day of the following week.
You can make a little diary about it.
After this week reflect how it made you feel.
I am sure you will feel stronger,
More powerful and even more curious because there are so many things in our world that are worth exploring.
Now take a deep breath and slowly bring your awareness back to where you are.
Gently open your eyes.
Maybe you'll already see how you perceive your surroundings in a different way,
Noticing details you didn't notice before.
Remember curiosity is a journey,
Not a destination.
It is about continually challenging yourself to see the world and yourself through a lens of wonder and possibility.
Find curiosity in a way and at a pace that feels right for you but keep challenging your curiosity.
And for the last time repeat after me.
I am open.
I am curious.
I am ready to discover.
I am open.
I am curious.
And I am ready to discover.
Alright,
That's it for now.
Be curious and watch how your world begins to change.
