Welcome to your gratitude meditation.
Please sit comfortable.
You may be in your cozy seat with your feet on the ground or you may be on the floor.
Make sure that wherever you're sitting your body is supported and you have taking any cushions and or blankets you may need to sit easily for the duration of this meditation.
Now gently shut or soften your eyes as you let your eyelids come down consider the five senses that serve you.
Sight,
Smell,
Touch,
Taste,
And Hearing.
Think about how wondrous it is that you can enjoy these senses.
You did not have to earn them they are given to you by creation and creation acts for nothing in return only wanting you to cherish and relish them.
Feel your heart swell with so much gratitude.
Keeping your eyes closed or soften let us now focus on our breath and our body as we breathe.
Notice how your chest and belly rise as you inhale from your nostrils and how they fall when you exhale.
Continue breathing and allow your body to relax more and more with each exhale.
Consider how this life force of air flows as pure loving energy through your entire body.
Easily and effortlessly supplying every cell in your body with oxygen to nurture you.
You did not need to earn your breath.
It is a gift in each present moment to you from your creator whoever or whatever you may imagine that to be.
Feel your heart grow warm with gratitude.
Continue to breathe normally with your eyes closed.
Now think about the relationships you may have with those in your life that bring love and joy to you.
Put your attention on the peace that surrounds you when you remember these interactions.
They may be family members,
Friends,
Colleagues,
Or animals.
Feel the glow in your heart as you remember them.
You did not have to earn the ability to love and receive.
It is your true nature and will always shine through.
It was given to you unconditionally.
And now let us focus on our breath again.
Continuing to keep your eyes closed or soften.
Feel the air and notice how you share this air with your breath.
Feel the air and notice how you share this air with every other creature on this planet.
The sun,
The stars,
The moon,
The sky,
The breeze,
The birds,
The trees.
The trees are your lungs giving you oxygen as they receive carbon dioxide from you in return.
This loving exchange with nature is the symbolic genius of life itself.
Feel thankfulness flow through your veins and arteries as you breathe.
Let us consider the place we live in,
Work in,
Rest in,
And eat in.
We often take these places for granted.
Recall your favorite piece of furniture,
The cozy spots you enjoy,
The areas you created for your peace and comfort.
It may be a chair,
A bed,
A sofa,
Or a room that soothes you and brings you joy.
It may be a chair,
A bed,
A sofa,
Or a room that soothes you and brings you calm.
Bring your attention to your heart center as you feel the relief and warmth of these spaces.
Remember that gratitude helps to strengthen your heart muscles.
As your heart continues to pump,
Your whole body with nourishing blood,
Consider its generosity and how you did not have to earn this miraculous flow.
This activity continues without effort.
Let us now bring our hands to our hearts.
Let us bow our heads in gratitude.
Hear your heart sing with grace and thankfulness.
As we conclude this meditation,
Let us consider how we can reflect this joy of giving and receiving in our lives.
Consider how we can turn our sense of gratitude into a spirit of serving the universe in our own small ways.
In our own small ways.
Keep your eyes closed or soften as you contemplate the glory of kindness.
Now,
Slowly wiggle your toes and your fingers.
Bring your attention back to this room.
Carry this feeling of exhilaration and gratefulness with you as you slowly float your eyelids open.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you for joining me in this gratitude meditation.
