Hello,

This is Angus Smith.

I just wanted to come in and talk about some things that are going on.

I think it needs to be talked about.

I was in denial.

I really was.

I really was in denial about it.

And you may ask,

Well what is that?

It's misperimenopause and mismenopause.

So perimenopause and menopause,

These are natural phases of life.

I think that it gets overlooked at a lot,

Yet so many of us as women,

And I know some of the women I come in contact with,

We're experiencing this as a collective.

Perimenopause is a transition leading up to menopause,

Where our hormones start to fluctuate,

Causing some mood swings,

Hot flashes,

And irregular time of the month.

Menopause itself marks the ending of time of the month,

Typically after 12 months of no time of the month.

And as I said,

I've been in denial about the transition,

But as Byron Katie says,

Love what is.

And the word that comes up for me now is acceptance.

Instead of resisting it,

Because I know whatever I resist,

It persists.

So it's like now I'm in a space of anguish,

Just accept it,

Just for now.

It doesn't mean that it's going to be all the time,

But just for now,

Just accept where you're at,

Right?

And I'm learning to embrace this phase,

And I know that's the first step towards thriving in it.

So with that being said,

I wanted to share some affirmations to support us through this paramenopause and menopause as a collective.

You could say them anytime throughout your day,

You know,

Reconnecting with your power and your peace.

And as I like to always say,

Take what you need and leave what does not serve you.

It's just like trying on clothes.

If it's a good fit,

Take it.

If it's not,

Just put it back.

So now we're about to prepare ourselves,

Sit in a comfortable seating,

Position yourself that suits you and supports you in this time right now.

Prioritize your comfort and take a couple of breaths before you get into these affirmations at your pace and your time.

Okay,

Let's begin.

I embrace this season of life with grace and strength.

I embrace this season of life with grace and strength.

My body is wise and I trust its natural rhythm.

Every day I am becoming more aligned with my true self.

I honor the wisdom and experience that come with this phase.

I am grounded,

Present,

And at peace with my body.

Now let's incorporate some breath work to ease any stress.

Inhale deeply for a count of four.

Hold for four.

And exhale for six.

Let's do that one more time.

Inhale deeply for a count of four.

Hold for four.

And exhale for six.

Take care of you during this time,

Whether it's the rest,

Movement,

Or simply being gentle with your thoughts.

This is your reminder that you are allowed to prioritize yourself.

Your body is carrying you through this beautiful journey,

And you are deserving of all the love and care in the world.

I hope this blesses you as it has for me,

And we shall talk soon.

Sending you an umbrella of peace,

Love,

And grace.

Thank you for being with me.
