Hello,
And welcome to M for Meditation.
My name is M,
And I will be your teacher and your guide on this channel.
The purpose of this platform is to provide accessible,
Easy-to-understand,
Varied and interesting meditation techniques,
Journeys and stories for everybody.
Whether you're new to meditation,
Have been meditating for some time,
Are a little out of practice,
Or simply just curious,
I hope you're able to find content,
Inspiration and ideas to help you on your journey.
Everybody's journey is different,
And everybody's journey is personal.
No two people's approach to meditation is the same,
So it's important that we find the techniques and styles that work for us as individuals.
It can be difficult to get started,
And it can be hard to know what the right course of action is.
We're surrounded by words like mindfulness that may be familiar,
Or may be completely unfamiliar,
But it's important that we understand how these words apply to us as individuals rather than as a whole.
Meditation is a broad and varied subject,
And quite often misunderstood.
For many,
The word meditation conjures up images of focused,
Dedicated people,
Sitting cross-legged on the floor in utter stillness and silence for hours and hours at a time.
Their dedication and focus able to achieve almost otherworldly abilities to empty their mind of all thought and transcend everyday stresses.
In fact,
This image is very strongly related to transcendental meditation,
And that's probably the type of meditation that most people think of when they hear the word.
Whilst transcendental meditation is a fantastic,
Beneficial and therapeutic style,
It's also extremely difficult and complicated to achieve,
And some people may find they're never able to enter this state of having an empty mind.
But the good news is that that's not necessarily what we're trying to achieve.
What we're trying to achieve is finding moments of peace,
Calm and stillness within ourselves.
And that doesn't have to be achieved by having no thoughts at all.
It's achieved by understanding and managing our thoughts instead.
Some people depend very heavily on visualisation.
Some people are not able to visualise at all.
Some people prefer physical movements and some people prefer to be very still.
We may choose to be sitting,
Lying down or even standing.
Maybe we want to be taken on a journey.
Maybe we want to be given a task.
Perhaps we want to speak out loud.
Perhaps we want a very structured,
Functional style of meditation.
Whichever is right for you is right for you as an individual.
And the wonderful thing about a meditation journey is finding what is right for you.
You may try different techniques before you find something that you really connect with.
But that's okay.
It's called practice for a reason.
I hope that you're able to find a meditation technique or simply a peaceful,
Inspiring story within the meditation.
Something that gives you those moments of peace and stillness that can be so difficult to find in our modern lives.
Be it for five minutes or an hour,
It's not always a case of quantity,
But it's always a case of quality of practice and peace with your own techniques and methods.
So I would like to thank you for joining me on this journey and I very much look forward to helping guide you through the world of meditation and help you achieve your goals.
New content will be added on a monthly basis and each different meditation,
Story or talk will focus on something different.
So you'll always have a variety of information to refer to.
As well as meditation,
I will also be able to provide guidance on using Reiki as well as thoughtful handmade gifts that will be available through my other social media platforms.
I would love to hear from you if you have any questions that will help build the MFair meditation community.
Thank you for being here with me.
