We're going to do a hunger check-in.
This is great to do any time of the day to get in tune with your body,
To increase your interoceptive awareness,
And to honor your body's internal wisdom.
Let's start by taking a nice deep grounding breath.
Inhale through the nose,
Open your mouth,
Let it go.
Settle into your space,
Maybe you're sitting or lying down.
Release your jaw,
Lengthen through the spine,
And then begin to just deepen the inhales and exhales.
Maybe the stomach in the chest rises and falls,
Maybe you feel the breath coming in and out of your nose.
Just tapping into how does your body feel right now.
Are you energized,
Tired,
Anywhere in between?
Then think about a scale of 1 to 10,
If 1 is the most hungry I've ever been,
And 10 is the most full I've ever been.
Where do you fall right now?
Know that there's no right or wrong answer.
Know that hunger can show up as an appetite,
Feeling that you have a craving for something.
Possibly a stomach gurgling,
Grumbling,
But for some people,
This is not how hunger arises.
For some people,
Hunger arises with a headache,
Brain fog,
Lack of energy,
Moodiness,
Lack of coordination.
These can all be signs that it's time to nourish the body,
And again,
There's no right or wrong answer to how hunger shows up for you.
We take this pause to step into your internal wisdom,
And notice what it is that your body is calling for.
When you think of what your number is,
Think about what you are going to do with that number.
Are you going to nourish yourself with food and beverage,
Or will you nourish yourself elsewhere,
If you're recognizing that maybe it's something else that you need.
Maybe a hug,
Or walk outside,
Maybe to meditate.
Honor what it is that your body needs.
We'll end our practice with three cleansing breaths.
Inhale through the nose.
Open your mouth,
Let it fall.
Again inhale deep.
Open your mouth,
Let it fall.
Last time,
All the way up,
All the way in,
And let it go.
Thank you friends for choosing this check-in.
I hope you take some time to find some nourishment.
