When your world gets too fast,

Too much,

Just a few minutes of quiet can help you reset your body,

Mind and heart.

You can do this easy meditation in the morning upon waking,

Or anytime during the day when you need a short rest.

Now find a comfortable seated position.

You may wish to sit on a yoga block or cushion to elevate your pelvis,

Or on the edge of a chair with both feet firmly pressed on the ground.

Feel your spine,

Long,

Regal.

Place your hands in your lap,

When you're ready,

Close your eyes.

Bring your awareness to your breath,

The cool air tickling your nostrils on each inhale,

The warm gush of each exhale.

With each inhale,

Your lungs fill with life giving oxygen.

On each exhale,

Release stress,

Strain,

Tension.

Inhale,

Nourish.

Exhale fears,

Worries,

Anger.

Feel the rise and fall of your chest,

Its natural rhythm coaxing your body and mind into deeper relaxation.

As your gaze turns deeper inwards,

Gently invite all excess thoughts,

Emotions and energies to step outside your physical body.

This precious time is for you and you alone,

Everything else can wait.

If any thought or feeling arises during your meditation,

Simply observe what it is saying and then let it float away like a weightless cloud.

Start to bring your awareness back to the physical body.

Feel the contact point between the floor and your feet.

Now allow your breath to deepen.

Make tiny movements with your toes and fingers.

Let your head turn from side to side.

Now place your palms together at your heart center.

Bow your head slightly and blink your eyes open.
