Many of us have spent most of our lives betraying our own needs to feel loved, accepted or to fit in. This often results in a lack of self-esteem and a lack of self-worth. When we begin to build self - trust, we can then focus on what self - care means to us. What does self-care mean to you?

Welcome to today's meditation.

We are now going to focus on our breath.

Please close your eyes when you are ready and make sure that you're in a comfortable position.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth during this meditation.

In today's meditation we are going to think about self-trust.

I want you to pause for a moment and think about what this word means to you.

Breathe in through your nose,

Pause,

And breathe out through your mouth.

And just continue to breathe in and out during this meditation.

It is natural for your mind to wander.

Just notice it,

Acknowledge it,

And come back to the breath.

Many of us have spent most of our lives betraying our own needs to feel loved,

Accepted,

Or to fit in.

This might lead us to struggle to trust ourselves.

When we think about what self-trust means,

It might look like the following.

Setting healthy boundaries,

Ability to make our own decisions,

Prioritizing our own needs,

Accepting and forgiving ourselves for past decisions and choices made in survival mode.

The ability to say no and to be honest and assertive with others.

Making life decisions based on our own values and morals and not to please or get validation from other people.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth for another three to five breaths.

You can continue to meditate in your own time or you can bring your attention back to your body and when you are ready,

Please open your eyes and come back into the room.
