Welcome to today's meditation.
We are now going to focus on our breath.
Please close your eyes when you are ready and make sure that you're in a comfortable position.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth during this meditation.
In today's meditation we are going to think about our inner child.
Dr.
Nicole LePera describes our inner child as an unconscious part of the mind in which we carry our unmet needs,
Our suppressed childhood emotions,
Our creativity,
Our intuition and our ability to play.
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth.
The process of acknowledging our inner child might begin with checking in or becoming curious about our needs.
What are my physical,
Emotional and psychological needs?
Do I have healthy boundaries?
What feelings and emotions am I experiencing right now?
Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth and just pay attention to how your body feels.
Does it feel heavy,
Tense,
Calm?
Just notice whatever comes up for you and just bring your attention back to your breath.
We are now going to focus on connecting to our inner child.
If this feels overwhelming please come back to your breath and bring your attention to your body.
Now bring your attention to your younger self,
Just acknowledging and creating awareness around the unmet physical,
Emotional and psychological needs.
I want you to think about the following affirmations and just repeat quietly or silently to yourself.
I am safe in the present moment.
I am secure.
I am grounded.
I am worthy.
I am enough.
Breathe in through your nose,
Allowing the breath to flow through you and breathe out through your mouth,
Releasing the body of breath.
I now want you to take a few moments to think about what you would like to say to your inner child and just remember the affirmations that you can repeat to yourself anytime that you feel overwhelmed.
I am safe in the here and now.
I am secure.
I am grounded.
I am worthy.
I am loved.
I am enough.
You can continue to meditate in your own time or you can bring your attention back to your body and when you are ready,
Please open your eyes and come back into the room.
