Welcome to today's meditation.

We are now going to focus on our breath.

Please close your eyes when you are ready and make sure that you are in a comfortable position.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth during this meditation.

We are now going to think about what the word self-esteem means to us.

Self-esteem is how we feel about ourselves.

A general judgment we have of ourselves or an image that we hold through different life experiences.

Self-esteem is essential for good physical,

Emotional and mental health.

It is natural for your mind to wander.

Just notice it,

Acknowledge it and come back to your breath.

Jon Kabat-Zinn describes meditation as witnessing whatever comes up in the mind or the body and to recognize it without condemning it or pursuing it,

Knowing that our judgments are unavoidable.

What we are interested in in meditation is direct contact with the experience itself.

Whether that is of an in-breath,

An out-breath,

A sensation,

A feeling,

A sound,

An impulse,

A thought,

A perception or a judgment.

Bring your attention to your breathing.

Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth for a few rounds of breath.

Have a think about what you can do for yourself today to improve your self-esteem.

You can continue to meditate in your own time or you can bring your attention back to your body and when you are ready,

Please open your eyes and come back into the room.
