A reflective narrative meditation designed to hold space for anger, the heat that rises in the body, and the tenderness that often lies beneath it. Through grounding awareness and a gentle nasal breath work pattern, you’ll be guided to notice how rage shows up in your body through physical sensations and be invited to soften them with compassion. This is not a space to suppress emotion, but to meet it fully, safely, and slowly begin to soothe the nervous system. For anyone who’s ever felt lost in the wave or unsure how to cool the fire—this is for you.

This is the space where we meet the fire.

The one that lives in the belly,

Behind the jaw,

And beneath the fists.

Sometimes we name it rage.

Sometimes it arrives first,

Guarding what really aches underneath,

Our grief,

Our sorrow,

And our fear.

This practice isn't here to fix or silence you.

It's here to let you be with what is.

To let the anger rise,

Speak,

And soften.

You have permission to feel it,

And you are allowed to learn to befriend it.

There are moments when anger takes the shape of fire.

Where it's thick in the throat,

Fast in the breath,

And tight in the chest.

It flares before you can even speak,

Before you can understand why.

And sometimes it's louder than your heart.

And sometimes it covers the softer things underneath.

The things that learned a long time ago,

That it's easier to be angry than to be unseen.

Anger is the thing that gets attention.

Sadness sometimes just gets overlooked.

So we learned.

We adapted.

We built walls where we used to need warmth.

We yelled when all we wanted was to be held.

And we exploded because the silence was too loud.

Our anger is not wrong.

It's a messenger.

But it is not always the truth.

Tune into your jaw.

Is it tight?

Let it loosen just slightly.

You don't have to pry it open.

Just let it remember softness.

Now your hands.

Are they fists curled tightly around something old?

What would it feel like to let your fingers open just a little?

Your brow.

That furrow that forms when the world doesn't listen.

Let it lift.

You are listening now to yourself.

Gently bring your awareness to your breath and let it stay soft.

Let it stay through your nose.

We're going to breathe to bring balance back to the body.

To cool the flame without putting it out.

Just easing the heat so you can hear yourself again.

Now breathe through the nose to the count of four and we'll exhale to the count of six.

Let's do that now.

Inhale gently through the nose.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Slowing the exhale.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Six.

And again.

Inhale.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Exhaling.

One.

Two.

Three.

And one more time.

Inhale.

And exhale.

Let your body continue on its own.

Keep your attention with it.

Just stay close.

The rage may still exist.

It may rise again,

But you are learning to meet it with tenderness.

You are learning that just beneath the fire is a younger part of you.

Afraid.

Unheard.

Aching to be seen.

And you are now seeing them.

Anger isn't the enemy.

It's the thing that often whispers things like,

I'm not enough.

They never listen.

No one sees me.

But now,

You are listening.

You are the one witnessing the fire and choosing to cool it.

With breath.

With softness.

With love.

Let this be your practice to return to your body,

To your breath,

And to the truth that your feelings are not failures.

They are doorways.

And you,

You are learning how to walk through them with compassion.

Thank you for being here.

And as always,

I'm sending love.
