This meditation is designed to be a midday recharge,
A gentle pause for your mind and body during a busy day.
Begin by finding a comfortable seated position,
Aligning your hips,
Shoulders and neck all in a straight line,
And gently lifting the crown of your head towards the sky.
If it feels comfortable,
I invite you to softly close your eyes.
Let's take a deep breath together,
Inhaling through the nose,
And exhaling through the mouth.
Allowing your jaw to soften,
Your shoulders to relax,
And your belly and hands to ease.
Amid the busyness of your day,
You've chosen this moment for yourself,
There is no place else you need to be,
Nothing else you need to do,
No problems you need to solve.
Give yourself permission to just be here for the next few minutes.
Sometimes we feel guilty for taking time for ourselves,
Or we're so used to being busy that stillness feels strange.
As you rest here,
Explore what it's like to simply be.
To not check emails,
Handle tasks,
Or converse with others,
But just to be.
What is it like to hear?
Can you notice the sounds passing through your awareness?
There's no need to get rid of those sounds or understand them,
Just tune in to the raw experience of hearing.
What is it like to feel?
What sensations or emotions do you notice in your body?
Is there tension or ease,
Boredom or anger,
Happiness or gratitude?
Allow yourself the space to simply be who you are,
Without trying to get somewhere else,
Or become a more enhanced version of yourself.
This is a break,
You just get to be you,
Can you find some ease in not having to become someone better,
Or get somewhere else?
Take a few moments to connect with your breath,
If you like you can place one hand on your belly to feel the movement of your abdomen,
Let your breath remind you that as long as you are breathing,
There is so much more going on in your body that's right,
Than wrong.
If we drop beneath the story of where we need to go,
What's not working well,
Or how stressful things are,
We are just sitting here,
Breathing,
We have the privilege of being alive,
A gift we can return to over and over again.
As you continue with the rest of your day,
Remember that you can come back to this practice,
To re-engage with what is important to you,
With more energy,
Restoration and focus.
Gently bring your attention back to the space around you,
Reconnecting with the world outside,
Let your breath return to its natural rhythm,
As you prepare to continue your day.
Thank you for sharing this practice with me,
Namaste.
