This is a short guided meditation for anyone with a broken heart or those who may be missing a loved one whom they are now separated from. The feelings of grief and pain are simply love with no place to go. We will practice releasing some of this love and sending it to those whom we can no longer be with. With Loving-Kindness, Allison

My name is Ellison and I would like to lead you through a meditation for a broken heart or for someone that you miss and perhaps are unable to see or physically be with for whatever reason or maybe that person has passed on and is no longer with us.

Whatever the circumstances or reasons that you are estranged from this person or persons,

This meditation will help you to release some of those feelings that you have no place to send,

No nowhere to put.

These feelings often end up feeling as if a tightness is in our chest maybe or maybe a gut-wrenching feeling.

Some people feel it all over their body.

Everyone experiences heartache or missing someone that they love in a different way but it is a universal feeling having your heart broken or having your heart missing a loved one that you can no longer be with.

So this meditation will allow us to send some loving kindness towards this loved one or loved ones and release some of the love that we're holding so tightly.

So closing your eyes now or resting your gaze.

Perhaps putting your hands on your chest and feeling into your body for a moment.

Maybe you're already experiencing discomfort and that's what led you to this meditation.

If you are not thinking of the person and trying to avoid thinking of the person,

I encourage you to counter that thought for just a few breaths.

Sometimes it can be so painful to think of the loved one that we avoid it and we harden around these feelings and we hold them inside and they become toxic to us.

So I would like for you to bring to your awareness,

To your imagination,

Your mind's eye,

A picture of the person or persons that you can no longer be with or that you are separated from currently.

Taking a few breaths to really bring them into your field of vision.

Really getting a sense of their presence maybe.

Maybe recalling a memory.

And now I would like for you to feel into your body and notice how it feels in your body.

There may be many uncomfortable sensations.

There may be love and affection and positive feelings.

There may be love and affection and positive feelings.

Let all of the feelings be present without judgment or adding a storyline.

Just feeling the feelings that so desperately want to rise up and leave.

Now continuing to imagine this loved one,

We're going to send loving kindness to them.

Maybe imagining where they potentially could be right now or again imagining that picture that we have in our mind.

And now focus on sending love from your heart center as if you have the ability to physically send love to this person through the universe.

Imagining that they are receiving this love.

You can add words,

Prayers,

Anything that you have left unsaid that you would like to express to this individual person.

So taking a few breaths just to imagine sending them love.

Maybe wrapping them in an imaginary energy of a hug.

Wrapping them with loving energy.

Feeling like you're hugging them and sending all this love that we've been holding in with nowhere to go.

And releasing some of it today.

Sending it out to the loved one that it deserves to be sent to.

It doesn't belong inside of you.

There's no reason to hold on to it.

It's just love.

Grief is just love with no place to go.

And now as we finish the practice,

I would like for us to offer some phrases of loving kindness to this individual or individuals.

I'm going to offer these phrases but you can think of your own as well.

Any that resonate with you.

Visualizing the person once more.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be peaceful.

Or any other phrases of love that resonate with you.

I'm going to repeat the phrases once more and then I encourage you to repeat them silently yourself along with me.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy.

May you be peaceful.

And now as we finish the practice,

I would like for you to bring yourself into awareness with this loved one and imagine for a moment you're together in the same space as you so desperately want to be.

And now offer loving kindness to both of you because you are too suffering with a broken heart.

May we all be happy.

May we all be peaceful.

May we all be healthy.

From my heart to yours,

I hope that this gave you some calming,

Some soothing to your broken heart.

Please know that you are not alone and that the discomfort that you feel is just simply love.

Love with no place to go.

So when you feel these moments of intense pain or intense missing of the person or persons,

Perhaps practice sending them loving kindness.

Sending them the love that you're holding so tightly.

I hope that you have a wonderful beautiful day.
