When we live with illness,

It can feel like things within our bodies are stuck.

We can lose the feeling of flow.

And as we try to cope,

We may also get stuck in our heads.

When we're stuck in mind energy,

We lose connection to our wholeness,

Which makes flow feel even further away.

But the body is always whole,

Always existing as a whole,

One energy pattern at a time.

The energies in us,

The patterns,

Without any narrative,

Are the doorway to reconnecting with our wholeness.

And if we can lean into the flow of the shifting energies within,

We can restore some flow to our experience.

The movement of our awareness can be that vehicle for unsticking.

The difference between ice and water is one degree.

You are not as far from flow as you may think.

Arrange yourself comfortably,

As comfortable as is possible for you today.

Settle into the space you're in.

Take a few softer,

Slower breaths.

As you settle,

And begin to give permission for things to be as they are.

Leaving behind all your doing.

It's safe to let go of doing.

We cannot apply effort to meditation.

We can only bring ourselves here,

And then put down all we are carrying.

So let's empty out.

Putting down.

Hurrying.

Controlling.

Sorting and solving.

Putting down the past and the future.

Feeling the tension of these things beginning to dissolve.

Come into this moment like it's the first time you've ever experienced being in your body.

We live with so many tabs open.

In meditation,

We choose to close the tabs.

Letting all we usually hold on to fall away.

Feel the rise and fall of your breath in your body.

Feel the edges of your body.

Experience your body's energy.

Feel its energy patterns within you at this moment.

However they are,

Allow them.

Breathe in some acceptance for how your body is.

Breathe out some of your resistance.

Let your attention,

Your awareness flow within and around your body in this time.

And let that gentle movement of your awareness be your foundation of being.

You may feel vibrations,

Heat,

Waves,

Pulsing,

Maybe subtle ripples,

Vague sensations or strong,

Fleeting or lasting.

Feel them.

Forget the meaning of these sensations.

What if they had no meaning?

What if for this moment they just asked to be felt?

Breathe softly,

Let go,

Release,

Allow,

Over and over.

What you're doing,

If you're doing anything at all,

Is experiencing,

Feeling,

Sensing.

Keep dropping within with your awareness into the energies within.

Slowly,

Layer by layer,

Escort your attention intentionally around your body.

Your skin,

Deeper into your bones,

Into your tissues,

Into your muscles,

Tendons and ligaments.

Every joint.

Your awareness descending into your organs,

Into your heart,

Your lungs,

Your stomach,

Liver,

Kidneys and brain.

Descending into the systems of your body,

Your circulation,

Your lymph system,

Your nervous system.

Every cell.

Your awareness deep within you,

Alongside vast resources and wisdom,

As well as the challenges and the wounds.

Descending into your body and being.

Even the difficult places.

Not barging in.

Not forcing.

Your own pace.

Trusting yourself.

Trusting the ebbing and the flowing.

This flux of your living being.

Resting within your body and its patterns.

Without succumbing to the pull of narrating it all.

You are attuning to your physical self.

Listening in.

As each breath comes and goes,

The energy patterns,

Ebbing and flowing like waves.

You remain centred as your awareness flows.

Somewhere between pushing through and collapsing in,

There is a soft middle ground of yielding.

Body without any force or strain.

Feeling the shifts,

Waves,

Ripples.

Whisper it's okay to yourself,

To your body,

To the flow of it all.

Invite soft acceptance to each ripple,

However it feels.

Your body knows.

In this moment,

No theories are needed.

Trust your body.

Include feeling its energy patterns in your day to day.

Let the shifting energies within be your doorway to flux and flow.

Give your body space to feel the next sensation and the next.

Spaciously within.

Yielding,

Flowing.

A quote from the Tao Te Ching.

Nothing in the world is as soft and yielding as water.

Yet for dissolving the hard and inflexible,

Nothing can surpass it.

Do not underestimate allowing the soft flowing of your awareness around your body for dissolving the tough and the difficult.
