Welcome to the sleep meditation.
As you prepare for a restful night's sleep,
Find a comfortable position lying down on your back with your arms resting gently by your sides.
Allow your eyes to softly close,
Inviting a sense of ease to wash over your entire body.
Take a deep,
Cleansing breath in through your nose,
Feeling the cool air fill your lungs,
And exhale slowly through your mouth,
Releasing any tension or worries that may be lingering within you.
With each breath,
Feel yourself sinking deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation.
Now bring your awareness to the sensation of your breath as it flows naturally in and out of your body.
Notice the rise and fall of your chest with each inhale and exhale,
Allowing your breath to guide you into a state of calm and tranquility.
As you continue to breathe,
Imagine a gentle wave of relaxation washing over you,
Starting from the top of your head and slowly flowing down to the tips of your toes.
With each wave,
Feel yourself letting go of any tension or discomfort,
Surrendering to the blissful sensation of relaxation.
Now bring your attention to your thoughts.
Notice any thoughts that may arise,
But instead of engaging with them,
Simply observe them with curiosity and then let them go,
Like leaves floating down a gentle stream.
Allow your mind to become quiet and still,
Like a calm lake on a peaceful night.
As you journey deeper into relaxation,
Bring your awareness to your physical body.
Begin to scan your body from head to toe,
Noticing any areas of tension or discomfort.
With each exhale,
Imagine these areas melting away,
Leaving you feeling light,
Peaceful,
And at ease.
Now visualize yourself in a serene and tranquil setting,
Surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Perhaps you are lying on a soft bed of grass beneath a canopy of stars or floating on a peaceful lake under a clear night sky.
Allow yourself to fully immerse in the peace and serenity of this place,
Feeling completely safe and protected.
As you rest in this tranquil space,
Know that you are supported and loved.
Trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should,
And allow yourself to surrender to the healing power of sleep.
Take a moment to express gratitude for this time you have set aside for yourself,
Knowing that by nurturing your mind,
Body,
And spirit,
You are setting the stage for a restful and rejuvenating night's sleep.
Now,
As we come to the end of this guided meditation,
Gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
Take a few deep breaths,
Gradually bringing soft movement back into your body,
Perhaps wiggling your fingers and your toes.
Feel free to continue to drift off into your slumber,
Or if and when you feel ready,
Slowly float your eyes open,
Taking a moment to reorient yourself to your surroundings.
Carry this sense of peace and relaxation with you as you drift off into a deep and restful sleep.
