Today's seven chakra meditation will take us on a journey from the root chakra all the way to the crown of the head.
We'll be utilizing visualization along with our breath to journey up the center channel,
Stopping briefly at each chakra in order to awaken and balance these energy centers.
Start by finding a comfortable seat,
Allow both of your sitting bones to settle down into the earth,
Into your chair,
Into your cushion.
And then notice the crown of the head lifting up.
And for this meditation,
We want the palate of the mouth stacked directly over the pelvic floor.
This establishes our center line known as the Sushumna Nadi.
And each of the seven chakras is based along the Sushumna Nadi.
Then close your eyes down and take a deep clearing breath in through your nose,
Tracing from the pelvic floor all the way to the crown of the head.
And as you exhale,
A sweeping motion from the crown of the head down to the pelvic floor,
Just clearing.
There's seven main chakras that we'll work with.
The first chakra is at the base of the pelvis.
The color is red,
Muladhara.
The second chakra is located above the pubic bone below the navel.
The color is orange,
Svadhisthana is the name of this chakra.
The third chakra is above the navel in the solar plexus region.
It's known as Manipura,
And the color is yellow.
The heart chakra is next at the center of the chest.
The color is green,
And it's Anahata.
The fifth chakra is in the center of the throat,
Vishuddha.
The color is sky blue.
And then we move into the center of the brain,
The third eye region,
Known as Ajna chakra.
This color is indigo.
And then the crown chakra is at the very top of the head.
It was a soft spot when we were a baby.
And this area is known as Hasra,
Or the thousand-petaled chakra.
It's known as a white color or violet,
Depending on the lineage you're studying.
You may use colors.
You may use the location of the chakra.
But we'll use the breath,
And we'll stop at each of these chakras,
Counting to seven on the inhale with seven sniffs of breath,
All the way up to the crown of the head,
And then we'll exhale through one breath out,
Sweeping and clearing any debris in this energy field.
Let's start with a slow breath in,
And another breath out.
And then we'll begin a slow little sniff of breath in for first chakra,
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
Sixth,
Seventh.
Pause and hold the breath in,
Relax your skin,
And exhale all the way out.
Again,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
Pause,
Hold the breath in,
And exhale all the breath out.
Inhaling red,
Orange,
Yellow,
Green,
Blue,
Indigo,
Violet.
Pause,
Exhale everything out.
Inhale,
Floor of the pelvis,
Low belly,
Upper belly,
Heart,
Throat,
Third eye,
Crown.
Pause.
Exhale.
And again,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
Pause.
Exhale everything out.
Again,
One,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five,
Six,
Seven.
Pause.
And exhale everything out.
Take three more rounds on your own.
Each little sniff of breath in,
You hold.
You can notice color,
You can visualize location,
Or you can simply stay with just counting.
Take your last round,
And then let your breath return to its normal pace.
Bringing awareness into any of the chakras that either stood out or were hard to locate,
And allowing your awareness just to settle in that area or that region,
Whether it was base of the pelvis,
Low belly,
Upper belly,
Heart,
Throat,
Third eye,
Or crown.
As your awareness pools in that area,
Just softening,
Receiving any insight,
The deep inner listening.
And then deepen your breath gently,
Bringing your breath into one of the seven chakras that stood out for you today.
Allowing this to guide you into your day with a sense of inquiry and insight,
Feeling balanced and clear from the very center of your being.
Thank you for your practice,
And enjoy the rest of your day or the rest of your evening.
Namaste.
